Banksy GREY No Ball Games Available, by dodge on Dec 16, 2009 15:08:39 GMT 1, This board is plumbing new depths. It almost resembles some sort of commodity forum rather than an art one.

POW and Banksy's market value, by dodge on Dec 15, 2009 20:41:36 GMT 1, I think the only way you could ensure more people had a chance to own a Banksy would be to do higher editions. POW did this with Micallef (GIWTBB) and look what happened to his 'stock'. On the other hand, Banksy is in a different league. Wasn't flags a higher edition too? Most people who wanted them got one of those.
Pricing will make absolutely no difference. Banksy prints will still sell out and people will always try to make a buck from them and push the prices up. I like the fact that POW are selling Banksy prints for less than 'market value' as it keeps them within my price range. However, this point is a bit redundant as I haven't had a Banksy at 'face value' for years. I guess it therefore doesn't really make any difference to as if I want a particular image I will (as usual) end up paying a small fortune for it.
This is a bit of a depressing post isn't it? I would be lovely to go back to the days of being able to get Banksy's prints easily and for a 'fair' price. Even if I could win one of the lotteries/win at F5'ing every now and again I would be happy!

Edinburgh Recommendations please, by dodge on Dec 15, 2009 20:30:41 GMT 1, Scottish Gallery of Modern Art www.nationalgalleries.org/The Castle, The Christmas fair in the gardens, George Street for the shops and trendy bars and restaurants, The Witchery for somewhere up market and decent food, Edinburgh Castle, Arthurs Seat on a Sunday Morning, The High Street, The Grass Market, Harvey Nichols......you got somewhere to stay?
What they said. The castle is great and the views from there are fantastic. Hasn't Hirst got a show on in Edinburgh somewhere?

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by dodge on Dec 13, 2009 9:55:55 GMT 1, Do people really think this print will ever fetch anything close to the 3k pounds people on the bay are asking. Would anyone really take this pos print over a s&s that could be gotten of half that price?
Exactly. Anyone who pays over £1500 for this print is in my opinion, mental.

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by dodge on Dec 12, 2009 11:33:15 GMT 1, I just got in from work christmas do and read this thread. Mental! Good luck to you all who q'd although it sounds as if the hardcore from on here got in early and will bag a print.
As for flippers, these prints will always end up in their hands, no matter what POW do. It's just a pity i live in the North East as I would have ben happy to q overnight and get a Banksy at cost (for the first time ever).
Get some pictures up!

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by dodge on Dec 5, 2009 10:17:08 GMT 1, For the first time in ages, I am not up for this at all. The reasons are:
a: I am in the process of finishing off two hideously pricey bathrooms! b: The image is awful.
Reading the posts, I am not the only one who is not overly impressed by the image. In my opinion, his prints have been getting gradually worse since Grannies (Nola aside). I am much more excited by the Parla print at Elm's Lester.
That said, good luck to all who are in for one!

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by dodge on Dec 2, 2009 20:43:42 GMT 1, If POW wants to ensure that somebody else benefits from this Banksy release besides just the flippers, I suggest that they sell raffle tickets for the chance to buy the Banksy (sort of like last year at POW's Open Day with the Very Little Helps print). In London, they should either sell raffle tickets for X amount of $ and/or allow swings at the pinatas (containing vouchers for the Banksy print) for X amount of $. Same for the online release, sell raffle tickets for X amount of $. Draw the raffle tickets out of a hat - lottery style for both the in-person and online editions - if your ticket is drawn, then you are given the chance to buy a print at full-price. No maximum amount of raffle tickets per person. So in short, the people that really want the print will pay for it. And of course, all proceeds go to charity. It would definitely allow for a considerable donation to the charity of POW's picking. Thoughts on this from everybody else??
I'm afraid there is no way of making sure they will go into the hands of collectors. The flippers will always be in there and prints will always be flipped. That's life!

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by dodge on Dec 2, 2009 20:41:52 GMT 1, Oooooh. Grey is nice. A trip to London may be on the cards. Wish it was like the old days when you could just wander into Santa's Ghetto and bag a Banksy. Sadly, I will probably waste my time again and still miss out. Sigh. Ho Hum, etc....

PRINT RESTORATION ADVISE, by dodge on Nov 24, 2009 22:56:56 GMT 1, Graham Bignell did a fantastic job for me. He charged £95 for touching up a small scrape and taking out a crease. It took him a few weeks to do it as he was very busy but he did a fantastic job. I couldn't recommend him highly enough.

New EELUS Print, by dodge on Oct 25, 2009 20:18:59 GMT 1, I don't like this in the slightest. Not doing anything at all. I quite liked some of his early prints but his new stuff looks like something that would be painted on the side of the waltzer at the fairground.

Vhils billboard edition released!, by dodge on Oct 15, 2009 19:46:51 GMT 1, Lovely pieces. I'm not normally a Vhils fan as his stuff always strikes me as being a bit morbid and depressing. I love the colours in these ones though.

So..Santas Ghetto 2009, by dodge on Oct 13, 2009 19:34:44 GMT 1, No doubt it will be London or somewhere far flung. No doubt the prints I would like to buy will be released on days when I am tied up at work and unable to get to the big smoke. No doubt I will end up paying flippers who snap up the aforementioned prints a small fortune.
Not that I am bitter....

Bargains on here and on ebay!, by dodge on Oct 7, 2009 20:41:35 GMT 1, think people are still dreaming... things are finding their true value
Amen. Long may it continue. Some pieces are actually coming down to levels that are somewhere near their 'true worth'.
