Tate ward have been selling the soup can posters at every auction. I think you can as good as guarantee they will be genuine. You have a right to be concerned though as a lot of auction houses seem to be selling all sorts of fake stuff.

For the avoidance of doubt any item proven to not to be authentic will be refunded in full. Hope this gives bidders confidence to place bids. Buyers are encouraged to contact us for a discussion on the provenance of any lot they’re interested in.

Good to have a refund policy around authenticity however proving something is not authentic can be near impossible. If I'm buying I would want to make sure the seller or auction house has done the due diligence to know without a doubt the item is authentic before offering it for sale. I've passed on things that I was 99% sure were authentic knowing if there was any doubt in my mind I wouldn't be happy with it.

No offence, but I think you are asking for the impossible.  

In the same way that it is almost impossible to prove 100% that something is not authentic, it is also almost impossible to prove 100% that it is.

With secondary sales it’s always varying shades of grey and a sliding scale of certainty. very good fakes can gather provenance and never be spotted and authentic works can be labelled as fakes incorrectly.

yes it did hammer @55k. A little disappointed but 2 more coming this month. I'll be watching tomorrow.

It sold for £68k, I remember Forum selling a unsigned LIITA for around £75k, then one month later Sothebys sold one for over £212k. The image is everything, signatures aren't that important anymore when it comes to the top images, buyers don't necessarily differentiate between signed and unsigned much like the Warhol market.

The Bonhams one? I'm pretty sure it was £55k or £74K (Inc fees) depending on how you look at it. Happy to be corrected though. Yeah I agree that image is really important though and LN is right up there as one of his most iconic. Will be interesting to see which image will cement itself behind GWTRB & LIITA in the unsigned market.

Anyone got on predictions of the GDP items, Thrower, GDP Rat, GDP Thrower, GDP Gift Rat Print, T Shirt and Banksquiat? I see bidding for the GDP rat has been quite strong on Artsy. 18 bids and well over the estimate.

Confirmed it sold for over £300k today.

Apparently the ap annotation was the reason it went for such a high amount even though the print is exactly the same as all the rest 🤷‍♂️

When mine went off to pest control it went numbered. Because they said it was a duplicate number, it came back renumbered as an AP / DN. 

Maybe I just rub out the DN part and tipex the COA
