Banksy Street Art • Les Miserables, by 11 on Jan 27, 2016 21:47:12 GMT 1, Is this confirmed stolen or just an employee of the property company showing off - I can't believe someone walked up in broad daylight and nicked the whole lot without being challenged.....and if he did nick it then posting it on Insta has to be lunacy surely

Banksy Street Art • Les Miserables, by Deleted on Jan 27, 2016 22:28:24 GMT 1, This is very on topic regarding Banksy the artist and film maker and his stencil opposite the French Embassy in London and the code that Banksy stencilled that takes one to a video called. "Calais Jungle police assaults"
Banksy's stencil of Cosette from Les Misérables with a big tear gas cannister gassing her and the video are mentioned on Channel 4's Facebook page. www.facebook.com/Channel4News/videos/10153474896111939/
Jo Brooks posted on instagram a photo of the Banksy stencil. http://instagram.com/p/BA7kSMRn2KO
With the words : "jobrookspr New banksy in London highlighting the use of CS gas in the jungle camp in Calais via @channel4news"
The QR code stencilled by Banksy showing Cosette from Les Miserables and a tear gas canister goes to this video and Channel 4 references this video in their brief article on Facebook.
The video cleary says in text, "tear gas attack" part way through the video.
The video clearly shows the migrants not panicking, nor running away and not scared by this "tear gas attack" Inside the camp.
This video clearly shows the migrants walking casually through the thick smoke without panicking or running away from it and with no signs of any ill effects.
This video does not show any close up of the many "tear gas" canisters that have hit the ground in the migrants camp.
This video does not show one victim of this "tear gas" attack with eyes streaming tears coming down their face (like in the Banksy Colette Les Miserables stencil) or suffering any ill effects from this "tear gas" attack.
This video does show very thick smoke which makes a very large cloud of smoke that lingers then disperses.
This video appears to show "smoke bombs" not tear gas.
Now i'm no expert so anyone who has an opinion about this feel free to respond.

I was referring to the property owner who will no doubt want to maximise their windfall, the tiles remain legal property of the owner.
I'm sure Mr B would want the piece to stay where he put it but don't think he'd bother trying to get it back - otherwise he wouldn't have thrown it out in the first place

As I wrote in my post, i'm no expert. I simply looked at what was presented to us by team Banksy. The message and image and video they presented to us.
I thought it off that people were calmly walking through the thick gas with no gas masks and no ill effects, that no close up of the gas cannisters were shown a sproof in that video and that no footage of any people or person with tears down their face and ill effects from the gas. Plus compared it to footage of tear gas used by police which shows that the gas lies close to the ground and is not thick and billowing as is smoke from smoke bombs.
As said i'm no expert and Banksy is telling us something which people accept at face value.
People can make up their own minds about team Banksy.

Fair point well put ploppi.True tear gas would have had them at least tying to cover noses and eyes at very least. Still its made us talk.debate and even look into claim in detail.I've certainly pay more attention and see various angles.

To quote Edmund Burke "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing". If there has been complaints of racism then the Forum Guardians have a duty to investigate and stamp it out and if necessary chuck offending member/s off the forum. I joined this forum to discuss art not to hale personal insults as some people here have a habit of doing. There is also saying that people with a hidden agenda don't like free speech.
I like facts not propaganda.
