Banksy Street Art • Les Miserables, by tartarus on Jan 28, 2016 2:12:21 GMT 1, To quote Edmund Burke "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing". If there has been complaints of racism then the Forum Guardians have a duty to investigate and stamp it out and if necessary chuck offending member/s off the forum. I joined this forum to discuss art not to hale personal insults as some people here have a habit of doing. There is also saying that people with a hidden agenda don't like free speech. I like facts not propaganda. was it a fact that they bought a job lot of red paint then?

"""It took about five minutes at today’s session of the Commons Home Affairs Committee to establish that neither G4S nor Jomast (the landlord which provides properties in Middlesbrough for the housing of asylum-seekers) have a policy of deliberately painting front doors red in order to help identify the occupants as asylum-seekers. You appear to be point scoring over a non issue. It comes across as petty.
Whether the company buys red paint in bulk or not.
Most companies exist to make a profit and I very much doubt a company that has to maintain numerous properties would pop down to a hardware store and buy a single tin of paint every time their workers go out to re paint doors etc.
Most large companies buy materials in bulk.
If you really want to point score then just contact the company direct and ask them. They are in the phone book.
Here is what Jomast the landlord of the properties said to the Commons Select committee.

blogs.spectator.co.uk/2016/01/news-from-todays-select-committee-the-doors-were-painted-red-20-years-ago/
"A select committee revelation: the doors were painted red 20 years ago"
"Managing director Stuart Monk said the paint is usually bought in bulk for use across all properties, adding that it is ‘ludicrous to suggest that this constitutes any form of discrimination’."

Non asylum seekers doors in Jomast properties also have red doors.
The problem that is being ignored is nothing to do with doors. It's to do with lack of policing in many parts of Britain and lack of respect for others in society. Where petty crime and vandalism are ignored.

You know as well as I do that there are people with a political agenda that give advice to people to complain about this or that in order to promote their agenda on the left in politics and on the right.
I am sure that some of the asylum seekrs houses have been targeted by brainless bullies.
It's not because the doors are red it's because the local grapevine in places like this and the typical English curiosity of peeking from behind curtains and jealosy makes some people target people as in vandalism etc.
This problem should have been about lack of policing in these areas and the police not taking reports of crime and vandalism seriously.
It's not only some asylum seekers that have been attacked and insulted and had cars and property vandalised.
People have been victims of this for decades and the bullies target the weak.
Were they actually bothered by the color of the doors or by the antisocial morons living in those towns and places that are thick as shit and verbally abusive or vandalising peoples property because the people are new in teh area isolated and easy targets?
My view is that some people were attacked by idiots because they were new in the community.
These fuctards are everywhere and target people who they believe cannot stand up to them just bullies that should be dealt with by the local police.
Fiona Pilkington had the same problem from her neighbours a while back. basically a moron family in the street with an attitude problem targetting the weak.
We all know how well the Police let Fiona Pilkington down.
Hate crime is hate crime no matter where the people are from.

The problem that is being ignored is nothing to do with doors. It's to do with lack of policing in many parts of Britain and lack of respect for others in society. Where petty crime and vandalism are ignored.
I challenged your use of facts. Your long post does nothing to detract from that. How about the red wristbands by the way? How do you view that?

I resolve not to argue over this any more. I fear that ploppi will never concede that he might ever be wrong, not even in the slightest way, and so there is no point.

I am replying to people who want me to reply, and in a polite manner.
I am not arguing I am only putting my point across.
I am well within the forum rules.
I know that some on here no names mentioned including who may or may not be guardians have had an issue with my opinion on a certain amount of organised ? hype on here regarding art being promoted.
I also know that some on here have PM'd each other behind my back and also contacted Silkie to try to have me banned. That shows the nastiness of some people on here who are all about free speech etc but in reality only allow free speech if it promotes or suits their agenda.
I have debunked why doors are being painted red. Some people can't get any more political mileage out of the red doors story.
Thats not my problem.
This forum is apolitical as far as I know.
So with respect stop nit picking and targetting me and how about looking at other peoples posts on here to see why I have responded and debated the points they want me to debate with them.
Now copy and paste the"ridiculous statements" I have made to prove your point.
It's not illegal is it to have an opinion that does not please everybody?
We are allowed free speech in Europe are we not and please do tell if this forum is against free speech.

Banksy Street Art • Les Miserables, by Deleted on Jan 28, 2016 14:06:23 GMT 1, It's a deplorable situation. Children should not be living in those conditions in France or europe. They are in France and the French government has a duty to provide accomodation to the children and the parents or parent. Even if their asylum application has not been processed.
Whether asylum seekers should be given temporary asylum in Europe if they come from a war zone and be able to return afterwards is something that the polictician have to debate.
Global problems and millions of people below the poverty line.

The more children that are lifted out of poverty and given access to education, the better chance we have of combatting worldwide disease, hunger, conflict, etc.
Share the wealth and invest in society's future. Fix things at the top and you'll start to mend things at the bottom. It's the smart thing to do.

Banksy Street Art • Les Miserables, by Deleted on Jan 28, 2016 14:53:02 GMT 1, There is also saying that people with a hidden agenda don't like free speech. I like facts not propaganda. Ploppi, do explain yourself please. Don't make accusations without substance. For your information I don't have any agenda. I defend everyone's right to free speech but I will fight anyone who spreads hatred, whether it's on race, religion, gender or anything else. If I have any agenda at all Ploppi, then it is to educate, that's all. I agree with you about free speech, whether I agree with what they say or not.
You said "First of all Ploppi it's not your fault, it's the media that insists upon calling the refugees migrants in the same way that most of British media insists on the term Islamic State when there is no such place. It is important to use the correct term because migrant have no rights whereas Refugees do. Our democratically elected governments are signatory to the charter which offers protection to Refugees. Secondly just because a person has not been 'registered' as a refugee it does not mean they are not a refugee. It does not mean that they did not leave their homes and their possessions. The definition of REFUGEE according to the Oxford English dictionary is "A person who has been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster". The 1951 Refugee Convention spells out that a refugee is someone who "owing to a well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion, is outside the country of his nationality, and is unable to, or owing to such fear, is unwilling to avail himself of the protection of that country." Thirdly, it really does not matter where they are coming from. I'm guessing your inquiry into this is assuming that those coming from non-waring countries are not refugees. As stated clearly above the 1951 Refugee Convention states a Refugee is not only escaping from war. They are running away from persecution. Who are we to say that someone is not running away persecution as we sit here in the comfort of our homes. There are better qualified people than us on the ground who are doing this job.
I hope this is of help and clarifies what I was trying to say."
You said migrants are "REFUGEES" on another post too.
I agree that many refugees are entering europe. Thats an undisputed fact. I also am not naive and know as do others that many economic migrants are using the refugees as an opportunity to enter europe and profit. It's human nature. Just because someone says they are a something or tells a back story does not mean it is always true. I support helping refugees and giving them shelter.
Economic migrants and migrants have the right to move and live wher ever they want. I have no problem with people who contribute to society. Integrate and support the values of the country they move to.
You said also, "I am absolutely disgusted by Denmark passing a law to confiscate Refugees' assets.
If Mr Banksy is reading this, another work of art please outside the Danish Embassy - a line of refugees being robbed by Danish highwaymen - in Nazi uniforms, perhaps.
I am appalled."
I find this post racist and offensive to Danish people. Depicting danes as nazis. Denmark was invaded by Germany and being a small country had no choice and by doing that saved many peoples lives. Jean Claude Juncker the EU présidents father was in the Werhmacht in WW2 on the other hand. Even though I see no relevance to WW2 and what is happening today in Europe.
If you really want to make a protest and a stencil on the Danish Embassy wall. By all means go ahead and do it. Don't wait for Banksy. You can make a stencil yourself and spray it yourself as lets face it anyone can make stencils the Banksy way.
I disagree with confiscating refugees assets at point of entry. It's pointless.
Whats more important is that the leader of a country and it's elected government priority is to the security of the country and safety of the people.
My heart goes out to the family of Alexandra Mezher a Young kind Swedish asylum center worker who was murdered stabbed to death by a "refugee". Whose family moved to Sweden from Lebanon for a better life.

Had your rant?! You accused me of having an agenda and I said I don't. You haven't proved anything with your ranting. As for you accusing me of being racist, well if that's the case I am big enough to apologise to anyone offended by what I said. I am not alone in saying that the actions of the Danish government in passing this law is akin to what happened to the Jews in WWII, even Danish people and politicians have made similar statements. I have been a victim of racist attacks most of my life, I have fought against racism most of my adult life. Don't you dare lecture me on the subject.
