Andy Warhol πΊπΈ Real or Fake? β’ Sunday B. Morning Print, by nacional on Sept 13, 2007 17:21:21 GMT 1, I bought one of these a few years ago and was told that Sunday B Morning (whoevertheyare)stole the original whateveritis that is was used to produce the print from Warhol and then mass-produced the prints. This is why they are so cheap to buy.

Text reads MODUS OPERANDI: Screenprinting, sound recording, film and occasionally drawing and painting. Suspect tends to be evasive, using βGeeβ, βMyβ and βWhat do you think itβs worth?β when addressed.
ASSOCIATES: believed to be involved with international art conspiracy.
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: gunshot wound to upper torso, pock-marked complexion, tattoo of Turin Shroud on left arm.

Andy Warhol πΊπΈ Real or Fake? β’ Sunday B. Morning Print, by dmandpenfold on Oct 1, 2007 12:23:12 GMT 1, Firstly apologies if there's been a post on this, but i've been away for a while and cant find anything after a good look through the threads...
I just visited the Warhol exhibition in Edinburgh which has been running for the last month, unfortunately no pictures from inside as they're not allowed, however the exhibition has some nice mock ups on the outside (below)...
For anyone who is in the area and has a chance to go, i recommend it (still 1 week left). It's a great chance to see some of Andy's original art and sculptures in the flesh with some classics there like, Marilyn, Jackie, the Screen Tests and Gun to name a few.
Naturally there is the ever present dodgy tourist gallery shop to visit at the end of it all where i picked up a couple of soup can's and a book of Warhol images, i wonder if Andy would see the humorous side of the use of his everyday images on everyday objects in such modern art classics as "Fridge Magnet", "Tea-Cosy", "Mug", "Tea Towel" etc.......
And finally the ones i bought...good value at GBP6.95 each and they'll look good next to each other in a single frame i reckon.

Andy Warhol πΊπΈ Real or Fake? β’ Sunday B. Morning Print, by rubinity on Mar 27, 2008 21:36:43 GMT 1, I have been offered a paper sleeve that would have originally kept some Wathol prints together. It has his signiture along with some notes that he had scribbled. Altogether it looks quite cool in a frame (so I'm being told) and would make a nice conversation piece.
Does anyone have any idea how much such a piece would cost?

Andy Warhol πΊπΈ Real or Fake? β’ Sunday B. Morning Print, by rubinity on Mar 28, 2008 1:44:03 GMT 1, Thanks for the advice JonJon
With regards to your comment Bongo, I appreciate what you're saying but as I will not afford a Warhol in the near future and really love his work i'm afraid a signiture may have to do for now. After all what is art, it evokes emotion, if a Warhol signiture on my wall makes me smile then it has served its purpose, even if it is just a reminder that one day I may own an original. Each to their own i guess

Andy Warhol πΊπΈ Real or Fake? β’ Sunday B. Morning Print, by Heavyconsumer on Mar 28, 2008 1:55:12 GMT 1, You should be able to get an excellent opinion on it's authenticity by a signature dealer. There are such people who specialise in the trade of signatures and autographs. Years ago I knew a guy at work who was a commited collecter and dealer of autoghraphs. Sorry, but I would have no idea how to find him now as that company has since closed. Such a person would also be able to give you an exact valuation of this item.

a lot of people collect signatures and if it makes you smile and think of Warhol then it sounds like it will serve it's purpose...
you won't be the first nor will you be the last, so who cares what anyone else says and enjoy it mate... just don't pay over the odds for something that may not be real, check it out first like stated above...
Good luck with it...

Hi, if you like his work check out Steve Kaufman (if you havent already) He was Warhol's assistent and has carried on his work. You can pick his stuff up at quite reaonable prices.
