Nick Walker "In Gods We Trust" 13th Oct, by jusdeep on Oct 13, 2010 12:58:32 GMT 1, The chocolate crucified Jesus was one of my favourites (I think the one above was the mould). The chocolate wasn't bad either, although I was quite concerned with Nick's kids hacking off chunks with a hammer and chisel.

Nick Walker "In Gods We Trust" 13th Oct, by moleman on Oct 13, 2010 19:56:31 GMT 1, Can't work this out. Nick is being slated and words like rushed work being thrown around. There to me look like there has been some serious stencil bashing by nick, some really complicated and time consuming cutting. I like nicks work and I would say some of that stencil work is up there with some of Logan hicks works. The free hand but is quite tasty to. What was it all priced like
And as for the vandal being ended I hope not and flogging a dead horse no fing way stick those images together they look fantastic. How many artists from all sizes reuse the same ideas and images. I'm sure some can add more than me but how about Blek Faile Luke cheu Jeff koons Hirst
Granted the works don't seem to flow just a bit random in places but not worth the shut reports.

It is far easier to find successful artists who consistently use a device than ones who don't. The idea that themes must be continually discarded is silly because it can never be developed - artists can spend a lifetime examining a particular theme (Albers springs to mind).
I would love Nick Walker to explore the vandal/TMA theme further, I have originals and prints from that series and I would buy more.

Nick Walker "In Gods We Trust" 13th Oct, by wizzy on Oct 13, 2010 20:15:17 GMT 1, To be honest, since this show i have sort of regained an interest in Nicks older works and have looking at them all again, it was Nicks work that introduced me to and got me all excited about this genre via Bob who isnt on here anymore, so cheers for that Nick and Bob. Cant say anything about this show to be honest as i havent been but the earlier works still sort of do it for me!.

I think these people explore the same ideas and motifs in different ways aesthetically. Nick seems to just put the vandal in new places. The aesthetic is the same. I like the vandal and want him back but I don't think its fair to parallel those artists with Nick.
All in all I'd really like to see Nick continue to explore new themes and aesthetics. Unfortunately, nothing that I've seen thus far from this show looks good.

Nick Walker "In Gods We Trust" 13th Oct, by James Baker on Oct 14, 2010 11:41:17 GMT 1, they are sexy yes. I am not going to argue but that is probably through association. But they are ridiculous. Have you ever donned them Wiz? Are they comfy? Corset or high heels? You decide. Does anyone remember 'block a boots' at school?
