Shepard Fairey - Soup Can III, by schlomo on Sept 14, 2009 11:57:08 GMT 1, Mutant i wasn't gonna join in as figured it would sound like sour grapes (even tho i wasn't that into this colourway that much....), but i was interested in this line in your order receipt.....
Date / Time: 9/9/2009 1:57:38 PM
I find that time very interesting, as the print was released at roughly 16.50 uk time, Icono are in LA right, time difference 8 hours. I just dont see how an order receipt from 1.57 pm can work?? maybe i am also being cynical, but just thought that was a little odd.......

Shepard Fairey - Soup Can III, by mutant on Sept 14, 2009 15:27:12 GMT 1, Cheers, Schlomo. I am in the eastern standard time and was out of commission during your conversation
I understand where you are coming from. Purchasing works from popular artists can be frustrating. I resorted to buying prints on the secondary market numerous times because they were soldout instantly. Buying on the secondary market does not always mean you have to pay more. If you are patient, you can certainly pick up some lovely works at a very reasonable price. In any case, best of luck.

Shepard Fairey - Soup Can III, by achtungbono on Sept 15, 2009 9:45:31 GMT 1, well....
seems that a third party had got hold of my card detials & a shopping spree has ensured . the same card that I used to get a Can on Iconoclast.maybe a coincidence... The IC Transaction is cancelled. I dont want to deal with an outfit that leaves itself open to such fraud. I dont care about the money- thats the banks problem/ their card & systems - but the hassle involved in cancelling everything and getting new cards issued has left a rather bad taste in my mouth.
I rarely use this card - its for art purchases on the whole, so the amount of busnesses who have access to my detials are very limited
no more Iconoclast.
well....

Shepard Fairey - Soup Can III, by achtungbono on Sept 15, 2009 10:23:42 GMT 1, In the cold light of day, having been hit for USD 750, even though I literally had the password input and print in the basket within 10 seconds of it coming up, I have serious doubts to the whole setup. Maybe this was a ryanair style offer - i.e. Seats advetised at 1p, but when you come to book, the one and only 1p seat has gone and all you are left with are £50 alternatives.
Too much greed for me

Shepard Fairey - Soup Can III, by iconoclastedt on Sept 15, 2009 18:24:49 GMT 1, Iconoclast Statement: Any and all claims of any sort of lack of security, credit card fraud, or anything of this nature is a complete and absolute lie. We have not, and do not, have any incidents of anything of this sort. This is complete mistruth. Period. Our site is secure and certified as such. We have transactions occur every day on the site without incident of this sort, no exceptions.
There is also a lot of conjecture circulating about how our site works, etc. We will issue a statement soon explaining in excruciating detail how the cart and checkout process works, our model, pricing structure etc.
In the meantime, as always, we encourage anyone with any questions or concerns to either email us at info@iconoclasteditions.com or call us at 513.792.9744 and we would be more than happy to help you in any way and answer any questions you may have.

Shepard Fairey - Soup Can III, by snausages on Sept 15, 2009 18:41:23 GMT 1, I did notice that at some point between the time Soup Can III was released and today your site now conforms to https: secure protocol. But without a single doubt in my mind your cart was operating WITHOUT secure protocol on September 9th. I checked several times that day because I was so amazed that it was NOT secure.

I cannot say with 100% accuracy that the IC site was the source of the fraud, but this card is used rarely , as I mentioned. MY bank have killed the card , not me.Then again, if we want to get into a tortological vortex, then anyone suggesting that a site is utterly and totally secure is incorrect - nothing is 100% safe, even with the best will in the world
On a personal level & this is opinion only , before ambulance chasers are called in - I dislike the curt arrogance of the robust IC text & the inference that any comment or anecdote relayed is a de facto mistruth, maybe thats just me of course, but as a consumer, I have some choice in how I spend my money.or not.
make your own decisions kids.

Shepard Fairey - Soup Can III, by iconoclastedt on Sept 23, 2009 20:43:53 GMT 1, Achtungbono’s claim of credit card misuse is completely and utterly false. This is a customer who we are familiar with and who has purchased from us multiple times over a period of several years, without incident both on our site, and direct via phone/email. His Soup Can purchases were not even made over our site. He took our pre-sale offer of completing his set of all 4 Soup Cans from this past May and completed his set of Soup Cans then. His order was taken by our staff over the phone. He did not even purchase SCIII OR SCII on our site! We repeat, he did not purchase SCII or III individually at all, only a full set over the phone. Needless to say, we will not be doing business with this person at any point in the future. There are absolutely no security issues with our site, nor were there at the time of the SCIII release. The site is, and was, completely secure using up to date registered security certificates. Once again, as we’ve stated many times, we have customers ordering off our site on a daily basis without incident, no exceptions. Having said that, we certainly would encourage anyone who believes they have a legitimate concern regarding anything, to contact us directly and we will help you in every possible way. And, as always, if you’d prefer to contact us with any questions or place an order directly, you can always reach us via email [info@iconoclasteditions.com] or phone [513.792.9744]. We also deal with our customers via email and phone as well, on a daily basis. Thank you.

hearing both sides is sooooo antiquated. snap judgments and lynch mobs is where it's at!
