Having just read through this thread i must say i am very very surprised by some of the comments. I ordered the can at a low price, and was later that afternoon emailed by christian who asked me to call him to talk about the order. I did so and found him to be very polite and helpful. He explained that my order was ok but the address was slightly odd and then talked me through how long it would be before it was sent out, and we then talked about the next print and he gave me a slight indication of when it would be released (not the actual release day unfortunately). Anyway, i realise and can see that some peoples dealings with icono were different from mine, but thought i would post something up in their defence as my dealings with them were pleasant and easy.

i was sold the print at about £130 (i bought it at $450 but they undercharged me in error like danmuppet)
they took the money out of my account and then i got an email asking ME to call them as there was a problem with my order - im not sure which planet you come from Christian, but where im from in my business, if i have a problem with a customers transaction, i call them!!!

after he tried his hardest to be nice in explaining that they charged me the incorrect amount, if i wanted the print i would have to pay $450(no problem christian, just charge me the difference right?) but no he said that i was being refunded and then they would take the correct amount from my card. I agreed as i really wanted the print. this was on june 12th.

4 days later, no refund so i spend more time phoning and emailing christian and eventually i get a refund but lose out on a few pounds due to exchange rate - great!

he then tells me that he is going to rerun my card - no problem
but he doesnt try to charge my card until 2 weeks later ???and by that time i had lost my card so was waiting for a new onei to arrive from the bank (which takes ages as we all know) so i then am suprised when i get an email from christian sayingthat my card didnt work as i would obviously of assumed that he would have charged my card 2 weeks earlier as discussed.

i then send him an email to explain and ask if he would like me to go into the bank and arrange for money to be transferred into another account so that i can give him new card details or is he happy to wait until new card arrives - NO RESPONSE so i then wait a day and send him another email to see if everything was ok and what would he like me to do - AGAIN, NOTHING!

the following day, i receive an email which says:
"we need to run your card today"

by this time i was in the middle of work and it was impossible to get out and go to banks etc etc and i was suprised and disappointed that he hadnt replied to my previous emails or charged my card weeks earlier as he supposed to (its obviously not his fault thati lost my card) so i then respond to say that i had sent him 2 emails that he hadnt replied to and there was nothing that i could do that day and as he hadnt responded, i had assumed that he was happy to wait until my new card arrived - i then mentioned thati had been more than patient when they undercharged me then took 4 days to refund me, but christians response was:

"we have been patient with you also and if you can pay with paypal if you want"

great i thought, but no Mr strike now wants to charge me an extra $10 to use paypal??!! WTF!!!

since when do customers pay the vendors merchant/paypal/bank fees?

i obviously asked him to send me a paypal invoice for the $450 plus shipping and advised him that it would have to be by instant bank transfer(as my card was inactive) but no, Mr Strike was more than happy to argue about the extra $10 and then went on to say that I should pay straight away as he "COULDNT BE BOTHERED TO DALLY ANY LONGER"

i havent posted on this forum for months now, but after reading this thread and the absolute B.S that Mr Strike has written on here, i thought that i would like to share my views.

as much as i wanted and was looking forward to this print, i refused to give him one penny of my money - in the time that i have been buying art, he is without a doubt the rudest, most ignorant and arrogant idiot that i have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

If I had the time and money to go off to the States, I would be in a long line with others ready to dish out some slaps on iconoclast. ;D

They came up with the oldest con lines in the Art game, saying they were ready to buy back Soup Cans at $900. This was a ruse to push the next lot of Soup Cans at $950 instead of keeping their promise to Shepard Fairey that they will sell the prints at a low price. Good on those that had good experiences with them and I hope your credit cards don't get hacked into by 'persons unknown' like the poor suckers who had bought the original Soup Can from i-CON-oclast!

I had a legitimate order towards the lower price point ($350 - $410 with shipping) and my order was good and would have been fulfilled - so no problems there.

But his manner (both in time taken and content) in replying to email correspondence is shocking.

No sour grapes cos I missed out (because I didn't!!) - but he really needs to go on a customer service 101.

sorry sand, i realised that my comments may be taken out of context and while i dont have a bad word to say against Iconoclast, others have and i would rather those who have, try and find a solution with Christian or be allowed to vent without someone (like myself) saying, dont like it lump it.

I agree customer service in any industry is paramount.

Similar experience as schlomo with myself. Icono called to confirm shipping details, additional admin but were very pleasant. However the test is how to deal with difficult situations.

yep same here, very nice guy, called to confirm address and when the shipment will take place. Got mine in the same bombproof packaging - not a single bad word to be said about them - and happy to buy from them again, if i get the chance. Bring on the next release, less people on this forum from the sounds of things to compete with to buy them at nice low prices ;D

i have got a full set of 3 matching numbers to match my original soup can - arrived the other day. I found Christian most welcoming - we had a few teething problems with my card but i spoke to him at lenght on the phone and we sorted everything out. he was polite,friendly and personally i felt that he was a gent and didn't like dealing with the mad rush for prints - if they do release any further prints from SF i am sure that they will be at a much higher price from the start to weed out the flippers and just to stop the mad rush. talking of flippers anyone want to buy a full set of soup cans?

Received mine end of last week equally well packed(flat). Will have to try for another as it doesn't quite work alongside my Tesco soupcan.(I knew I should have gone for a colourway way back!)

From the horses mouth, prints will start at $250, way below market value and increase as the edition sells out to way above market value.

i had a cheap one at 350 in my basket and went to purchase it but there system failed so i wrote a email at the time, i left it and only got a response last week to phone him. i didnt phone him then i recieved a phone call from him saying that his put me on the mailing list for the next one and then was asking if i collect shepards work and what other artists i was interested in. seemed nice.
