WTF are you on about? Warn about what? Will we burn in hell for buying a MB print/canvas and hanging it on the wall? When you walk past a car showroom do you warn strangers not to buy the cars because they're not not your prefered models?

Miss Bugs 5th June Brighton, by Nuno on Jun 10, 2008 19:04:39 GMT 1, Β£180 a piece, so Β£540 for the set. Think there is about 20 sets in existance (first 10 in q and about 10 original buyers) out of the run of 50.

Miss Bugs 5th June Brighton, by dogant on Jun 10, 2008 23:26:11 GMT 1, Monster of Spin Lego Frank and Monster of Spin show print are different sizes - I was lucky enough to be given a paste up and the head is at least 1/3 smaller than the lego version - IMO the 3 prints are smaller - a lot smaller.
Also, Lego Frank and Frank are different images (not just the lego face - as the Frank has a bird flying to the right and the Lego has 2 puffins (I think thats what they are) on them.
Anyway - lets wait and see!

Miss Bugs 5th June Brighton, by Heavyconsumer on Jun 10, 2008 23:41:08 GMT 1, The 2 Frank prints are definitely different images, face aside, yes. From memory I think even the spin painted backgrounds are different. I'd still prefer to have seen a whole different monster though, whether for the original replacement print to TRYHO or at the show. I'm guessing the collab' piece for the show was already done, hence the print, but to have 2 so similar did kind of irk me a little. I have the lego one and it stopped me from buying the Frank image from the show, but had it been a different monster, I definitely would have got the set of 3. Probably a good thing in hindsight as I think there is a finite limit to how many "monsters of spin" one can hang in a small apartment! ;D
I'll not be very pleased if the size of the show print turns out to differ though. I'll just have to wait and see.

Miss Bugs 5th June Brighton, by dogant on Jun 10, 2008 23:50:02 GMT 1, Heavyconsumer,
I agree, I also have the lego version and purchased the set of 3 with matching numbers - although, I prefer the lego image and also feel a bit upset that there are 2 franks now as prints.
Going forward - not sure what to do, as I would prefer the lego on the wall - but with the size difference in the lady and the god - its going to look at bit odd.
I guess its a waiting game - I could end up selling them on - but only if I can get hold of another MB to replace (almost kicking myself that I did not swap my frank lego for a RYHO now)
Who know what the future holds.....maybe a new banksy of spin?

Miss Bugs 5th June Brighton, by Heavyconsumer on Jun 11, 2008 0:04:36 GMT 1, As a seperate issue, I heard from MB yesterday that they will be updating the site with improved images of the work from the show, so people (like myself) who are too far away to attend, can get a better feel for the art.

Miss Bugs 5th June Brighton, by dogant on Jun 12, 2008 23:03:05 GMT 1, Theycallmestephen,
You did well with that purchase...was only looking at ebay 10mins ago and thought what a bargain (some other great prices on MB bits - get them while they are cold!)
It looks like this is the time to buy - funny really, the show was great last week - I guess everybody who was a fan attended and spent too much on originals!
Scavos picked one up framed from Art Republic last week - and the hand finishing was top draw, I think you have got a cracker...
Enjoy.

DITO! Stunning image, I would love to have one. Difficult to comment on price, as the MB prices are just so volatile at the minute, although for framed you must be quite happy I should think. Congrat's on your purchase mate, enjoy!
EDIT - If it was Manty's you bought, then you're in good hands too, I'm certain you will find he looks after you however he has promised to.

I've got one of the XL versions of this on my wall at home (framed up fantastically by Artrepublic) and its great how the light picks up the hand-finished details as you walk past it. Will try to get a pic posted.

Miss Bugs 5th June Brighton, by pimp on Jun 13, 2008 12:22:21 GMT 1, i must be going f**king loopy why can't people SEE what they are buying- this is so frustrating! well don't say that some didn't try to warn you! WTF are you on about? Warn about what? Will we burn in hell for buying a MB print/canvas and hanging it on the wall? When you walk past a car showroom do you warn strangers not to buy the cars because they're not not your prefered models?
all this miss bugs stuff has zero artistic merit, zero creativity, simply a cynical money grabbing cash in.
they cannot go wrong pitching to you lot on here, it's like shooting fish in a barrel! i can see the checklist now: 1. paint drips 2.'secret' identity 3.hirst images 4.insect style 5.stencils 6.'handfinishing' prints 7.disney 8.pop imagery
put it all on a mac and BAM! got yourself some genuine "art"
and how much for an original by a nobody whos been around 5 minutes? ahh 4k should do some sucker will pay it and go on the forums saying how great it is!
lol at what people spend their money/lines of credit on!
i sincerley hope that you bought it as you like it, ok you may have bad taste but at least you don't have to worry as much as an 'investor' would!
