We are accepting consignments for our first online sale. The sale will run from 14th-28th November. please send any works you’d like to consign to [e-mail] and [e-mail]. As usual we’ll pay consigners as soon as possible once lots have been paid for.

 That is my question. Along with what fees they charge sellers. Personally, I might hold off on auctioning prints until this US tariff is dropped.

Not easy to do it this way.

Auctioneers like to do their own condition reports.

Consigners will be required to get work to us for cataloguing, photographing and for condition reports. As always we will help buyers satisfy themselves in regard to condition and provenance of any works they’re interested in. BP is 25% vat on hammer 5% and ARR 4% where applicable. Sellers commission is negotiable in line with size and value of consignment.

I know some other houses are happy for sellers to do their own condition reports and leave work with them. Logistically this is easier but our view is quality photography and impartial condition reports will encourage buyers to pay higher prices for works.

Agree with you 100% condition reports must be impartial.

Any auction houses leaving the condition reports to the sellers are asking for trouble.

Do you guarantee the condition reports like if a buyer finds damage not included in the report?

Buyers are welcome to come and view works themselves in person at our storage facility to satisfy themselves with the condition of any piece. If they’re unable to do that then a condition report is available with where needed additional images and if the piece is of a value that warrants it video is available.

Best efforts are made to ensure that condition reports are fully comprehensive and can be relied on. Over the previous 3 sales we haven’t had a complaint that an item has been mis described.

I'm curious as to why an auction house would want to accept unauthenticated works that can be easily faked.

Always best to be curious before being furious!! We are 100% confident of the authenticity of these works the consigner is a well known collector to us and within the community I was actually invited to go with him myself but unfortunately couldn’t make it. These type of works will not be blindly accepted from anyone as with all works consigners should expect to be held to the high levels of provenance and where in doubt works will not be accepted. We stand behind each piece we sell and interested buyers are welcome to enquire on the provenance of any piece they’re interested in.
