The Walled Off Hotel merchandise might be tat (depending on your point of view) but it's still Banksy's tat; no one elses.

You have 4 or 5 levels

1 Pest Control
2 Banksy designed and approved= walled off, Peckham rock etc
3 Banksy maybe or maybe not approved = album covers, tee shirts, stickers
4 Fakes and copies, knobs like WCP, Mrs Banksy,counterfeit, scammers etc
5 street art

For the avoidance of doubt I don’t believe the Bethlehem edition has hand-finished handles (although happy to be proven wrong). I am aware of a hand-finished version with green handles.

I know people like to knock the ephemera but for a lot of people that is the only way they can afford to have something that has a connection to Banksy. If you’re a new collector buying this type of thing at auction is much more comfortable as at least you have some recourse if it turns out to be a counterfeit. I think people should realise how lucky they are if they can afford to do £10-50k on a print and understand not everyone is in that fortunate position.

I agree with this in theory, however I also think ephemera should be auctioned off in ephemera-only auctions that are clearly marked as such. Mixing them in with legitimate signed and numbered works of art, that I'm not a huge fan of.

We have a report from a highly regarded US conservator, which asserts that the handles are hand embellished. We will happily share this with any interested buyer.

ARR is applicable on any work attributed to Banksy over 1000 euros. This includes Monkey Parliament posters, Soup Can posters and anything else that breaks that threshold.

Ive no idea either way, but dont hand finished pieces say ' Hand Finished ' on th COA or something saying there is hand finishing on a piece?

daniel3886 should the banksy prints being sold without COA be classed as 'after banksy' too then in that case? High values to refund if they don't turn out authentic!

We are happy to stand by all pieces we list as I said. In 8 sales we’ve not been asked for a single refund but are ready to if the situation presents itself.

Sellers of prints that don’t have coa’s may have proceeds held pending coa approval. I’ve known many of our consigners for years so each individual case is viewed on its merits. If we pay the consigner we are assuming the risk in that situation.

Vat is charged on the Buyers Premium so 5% of hammer (works are sold under the margin scheme)
If the buyer is outside the EU we can remove it from the invoice.
Shipping can be arranged with the buyers preferred courier or we can recommend a few options.
