poss scam involving Banksy print/Pest control, by withnail69 on Nov 26, 2021 16:03:06 GMT 1, Hi guys.. Hoping you can help.. Was thinking about this last night.. The police said the party didn't have a COA but did have Proof of purchase (from the pop up winter wonderland shop that xmas).. I'm guessing that could have been in many forms.. Bank statement.. Receipt for the shop etc but I'm guessing that none of these would have had an edition number on it.. So if this was an insurance scam like I thought it was.. What if they just made up an edition number for the insurance just thinking they would get a pay out and it just so happened to be the same as ours.. What I'm asking is..Do you think people purchasing from winter wonderland event would have come away with something (other than the actual print) that said what edition number the print was? Bear in mind this was 2004/5 I can't remember off the top of my head what year the pop up was as I didn't go but I think it was Oxford Street.. Any help appreciated. Thanks Bump.. Can any help/advise on this ^^^^^

poss scam involving Banksy print/Pest control, by apprint on Nov 26, 2021 19:16:56 GMT 1, It's all very odd. If it came to a court case, who would Pest Control have sent to give evidence and also would the person who said it was stolen have attended court too? Two factors are that POW were selling the prints years before they decided to set up an owners register for individual prints. (I wonder if they kept complete records of sales from day one that exist today?) If it is true that POW have sold ltd edition prints containing duplicate numbers on more than one occasion and an employee of POW or ex employee attended court and confirmed that, then you could have a case against Pest Control and against the police for harassment etc, as it's not up to you to prove you bought the print legit (as in you are guilty unless you can prove your innocence), it's up to the accuser/s to prove that you stole it. Hi mate.. Case is all closed now but yes I'm betting we're not on an owners register. I'm beginning to think it should go to court.. Even a gallery owner friend thought we were already suing pest control for access to their records.. He asks for the photos of the cardboard tube etc and said he would show to banksy.. So far.. Brick walls all round
Get a very good solicitor, and get few millions from PC You only the only one taking them to court....
Make sure you claim few millions

poss scam involving Banksy print/Pest control, by withnail69 on Feb 9, 2024 17:39:12 GMT 1, Hi LJCal.. Still being ignored by PC. My mother wants to sell through Christies soon so lets see if they can get a COA. I won't hold my breath though. Insane they won't issue us a certificate after all the hassle.
