Forum Auctions β’ Banksy Marketplace π¬π§, by kai22 on Aug 30, 2023 16:03:18 GMT 1, I wouldnβt draw any conclusions based on a Summer Holiday auction, by a 4th tier unrecognised Auction House, when the art market is closed.
I had no idea this sale was on - they must spend zero on marketing. Or are paying a woodlouse to decide how to market their auctions.

Forum Auctions β’ Banksy Marketplace π¬π§, by Love Is In The Air on Aug 30, 2023 16:28:15 GMT 1, The signed Flying Copper looks a half decent buy until you see the condition report....
The upper edge of sheet slightly unevenly trimmed: the sheet measures 991 x 696mm (39 x 27 3/8in) A few areas of retouching(?) in the upper portion of the blue background around the copperβs head β please see additional images. A few very slight scuffs in the black β only visible in an extreme raking light. Very slight shadowing along edges of sheet. Please see images

Forum Auctions β’ Banksy Marketplace π¬π§, by Unica on Aug 30, 2023 16:32:32 GMT 1, If I owned a Banksy print and wanted to sell, the last place I'd sell would be at a small auction house right now in the current environment, these type of auction houses won't stop as it's still very lucrative for them. But it does drag down the market. Selling a Queen Vic for Β£9k is still a high value sale for them. The auctions will keep them going as long as they can get consignments.
I can't think why anyone goes the auction route with a Banksy print, low prices to the seller and I imagine it takes a while to get paid. It just doesn't make sense, it's unlikely at this time you're going to get top money or a bidding war unless it's very rare edition.
That being said the Soup Can did well.

Forum Auctions β’ Banksy Marketplace π¬π§, by artlike on Aug 30, 2023 17:13:50 GMT 1, I don't know why people bother about Banksy auctions when the results are poor. We all know it's not relevant to the Banksy market. Banksy auction results only have credibility when they're strong or when the BBC tells us so.

Forum Auctions β’ Banksy Marketplace π¬π§, by Unica on Aug 30, 2023 18:35:25 GMT 1, Signed laugh now was a steal. still cost the buyer probably Β£70k all in, not sure if that's a steal these days. I do feel the seller wouldn't be too pleased but I also don't know the condition of the piece or what they bought it for.

There is a lovely NBGs looking on the cheap side finishing in a few hours:

While that is generally true for Forum, I would note that 10 of the lots today were in great shape and appear to have never been framed. Which was nice to see.

Still I think in good condition it would have probably only hammered early Β£30s so maybe 2 or 3 more bids.

TBF, those that got Banksys in 2005 will still be happy - we paid hundreds, and can still sell for thousands.
