And I agree. I've gotten my fair share of damaged prints from galleries as well. It's terrible and unacceptable, that they don't seem to grasp the concept of how to properly pack a print. It's a really, really, easy thing to do.

Especially with a $1,000 print. . .

Why on earth would they not print extras in case of problems, and then proceed to send them out poorly packed?
Some of these places really need to learn how to do things properly.

I passed on this release as already have a minty mint Guitar Parts which is similar in size and edition size. 
Would consider a trade Ebtroll (or anyone else with one who prefers drippy diamonds to X's). 
Guitar Parts is a less dominating image for many rooms imo

BKBOI it is always worth asking for a % to be returned to you as goodwill as your investment is limited as the print did not arrive mint.

Similar thing happened to me a few months ago, no replacements but i did not want to lose out on owning the print. After a few emails the gallery returned me 50% of the cost. They can't resell the print so it's in their interest to do this.
Hopefully these guys will be receptive!

They can definitely resell the print if the collector doesn't have OCD like me. very minor edge damage that only appears in the back of the print. I just don't accept these type of issues with expensive prints.

Got the print today. Arrived like this. And no, I didn't remove the lid, showed up without one. Can't wait to see what it looks like out of the tube! (Sarcasm). Anyone have any clue what the blue tape on the paper is please let me know.

Quite shocking with the cost of this print.

My Borf print came in a giant bombproof tube...should be standard really, especially on high price prints.

That's a picture from the wife. Haven't been home to try and remove it yet. Looks like an oval in the pic so I'm guessing it will be nicely dented along with whatever dirt and debris filled in from the truck.

Maybe not but not keeping hopes high. :/

Ouch, fingers crossed its ok when you get it out.
I think the blue tape is meant to stop it moving in the tube.

I thought that about the tape but it looks oddly peeled back. Like as in it already fell out and they just put it back.

The blue tape is painters tape. It's called that cause it easily removable. Looks like it was used to keep the print from moving around in the tube.

Hmm well didn't hold to well. It doesn't look like the face of the print is covered and the paper with the tape is bent so close in on the print edge there doesn't seem to be cushion on the edges either. Joy.

Will update with condition when I get home for those still waiting for theirs.

Horrible. But, I sent a piece to the UK, I packed it very well, and it also arrived without a lid. Something is up with the post out there...

the tube doesn't stand a chance if pressure was applied to it with one cap missing. that tube doesn't look round at all but might just be a camera angle thing. good luck!
