It's the size. Per square inch is the most expensive Maya Hayuk I've ever seen, by a mile! Like it though and maybe her prices will reach this point next year, who knows

This is well ahead of primary pricing, which has moved shockingly fast already. Nice buy if you don't mind overpaying.

Only "primary source I'm aware of is cooper cole. They have 28 by 20 inch originals on paper for 2500 dollars but they are unsigned and also not in her "iconic design". So this seems to be fair-ish pricing I guess, but then there's also hand finished big prints like multiverses 1 in low edition number available for a bit over $1000 when this is 2000 dollars. Guess if someone wants am original this is a good way to start given where prices for other originals on wood have moved.

Nice collection, though I don't see what you're basing your opinion on OP's pricing on. You've got two OG's, both on canvas (right?), and then just prints. So obviously the price would fall in between the prints and canvases. Are you saying you got either of those OG's, only one of which is in her signature style, for less than he's asking? Or close to it?

edit: is the second one an OG on paper or a color test on paper?

Two ogs on board. The rest are mainly 1/1 APs or colour trials with a few from the main editions.
But yeah so I'm not just basing it on what I have bought, but what I have seen stocked since the summer. 
It's the size, this is very small, and it's on paper. But like I said a nice image if you don't mind paying for it... and obviously I hope her prices genuinely reach this level soon- so will f-off now. ha.

I'm curious as well what that OG (first picture, top right) cost because its awesome.  If it was anywhere near the cost of the OP's even on a per inch basis I feel like that would be a steal.  It's pretty awesome.

Side note, its funny with maya everyone wants and approves of the "signature style" like in this piece, but for almost every other artist that's making prints these days it gets categorized as "same old schtik" on here

second side note, is there any reason we can't see the whole piece in any of the pics (i think one of the pics is upside down, or does it come back around and form another cross-section, guessing not if its that size)?  third side note, nevermind, given our history, i wont be your buyer.

Expect this will be snapped up, as personally I would have thought fair value for a piece of this nature would lie in the £1500 to £2000 area. If anything this seems very fairly priced and hopefully finds the home of a maya collector.

Fairly priced and from what I can see it's bereft of any shade of brown, which often too starkly contrasts with the brighter colours of her work, ruining a lot of them in my eyes. I think you'll have no problem selling this quickly.

per square inch was much cheaper. I haven't seen one near this price on that basis yet. 
Personally I view her signature style to be designs centred around layered colours and lines. Not just drippy X's.

Thanks for all the interest so far, I will be sending more pictures to those that have requested in a little while.

To answer a couple of questions, the first picture is all the image but I've just cropped it to the edge.

The first photo is the way the painting is signed on the bottom but the third photo is the image I was sent by the gallery an the one I bought it from originally. I suppose you could have it whichever way you preferred as its signed on the back.

Oh and based in the Midlands UK happy to meet up to exchange or no problem posting anywhere in the world but it will be shipped flat.
