Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by bonesy on Sept 16, 2020 13:21:20 GMT 1, Strange the new shirt shows a short sleeve but description is long sleeve. Hoping for the latter.
Agree, receipt says long sleeve and it’s more than the initial short sleeve so probably long

Phillips was HKD, but the print we are talking about was online from a gallery in Miami. It was USD. Gotcha, I saw the 1-9-0 and just assumed you were talking about this mornings result

Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by bonesy on Sept 14, 2020 18:58:38 GMT 1, No. It was USD. I think it was $195,000. It was $190k or perhaps $195k if your memory is better than mine ! More than that. It was $1,900,000 HKD which equals $245,000 USD

BAST Trash Gun FOR SALE, by bonesy on Jun 9, 2020 16:15:12 GMT 1, Great piece. No idea what these ever sold for but I would put the value around what you paid for it. I think he was making these 10 years ago or so and I wouldn't say his market has really gone up since then.

Banksy Welcome Mat, by bonesy on Mar 6, 2020 21:45:55 GMT 1, Just received mine after being in NY customs for 8 days, quite happy with it.
Great cause all around but just thinking about the women sewing these- I'm sure the last thing some of them want to see (let alone work with all day) are these life jackets.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by bonesy on Nov 11, 2019 12:55:10 GMT 1, Interested to understand why many of the old original members don’t participate anymore? Too many dickheads? No interest in the scene anymore? Are they party to releases in the way of a VIP list so don’t need the forum for information? There must be some great information and stories from those early days that are just lost.
It’s the dickheads.

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by bonesy on Oct 10, 2019 14:10:08 GMT 1, I only read up to this point of the thread. But what about the most important factor, the integrity of the print run? I don’t care about your $1500 print job, or the artist being aware, or the artist getting some promotion. If you release an edition of 100 prints you should not have the liberty of releasing more of the edition later, end of story. yea have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. After it was all printed, nothing was printed after and thats never been an issue with anyone in that circle. Just a reminder, this was 3 years ago when those prints were printed by our printer. Plus, there was no release by us so Im just confused by this statement. The artist did his own second "edition" with his team because ours technically wasn't one. I thought someone said they received an unnumbered print from outside of an edition in a Bottleneck mystery tube and I assumed this was an edition that Bottleneck had previously released. If that was the case then I stand by statement if not then I apologize for misinterpreting.

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by bonesy on Oct 10, 2019 9:35:52 GMT 1, I ended up with a print outside of an edition (unsigned/unnumbered) that came from a bottleneck mystery tube. Artist said it was legit but had no knowledge of it and said it shouldn’t have been released. Also heard of them releasing a full run of a print an artist rejected and refused to sign. Has shaded their reputation a bit in my eyes. After we were left in the dust for a $1,500 print job and didn’t want to be a part of a second edition screwing over our customers, the artist had complete knowledge of the print being in our mystery tube as he was aware and ok’d the idea. Thankfully it worked out for him. The print got into many hands of his current fans and helped promote him with many saying it’s how they discovered him in the first place.

Banksy • Monkey Parliament Poster, by bonesy on Oct 3, 2019 18:59:53 GMT 1, As advised in my post, its not questioning the validity of the piece for sale.. just buyer beware in future.. as there are both unscrupulous and gullible people out there in equal measures. Best of luck with the sale G Graham H I think that has always been the case with similar pieces in particular open editions etc, remember this piece has been around now for 10 years and most that come up for sale are badly damaged. From what I have seen on the secondary market you will be hard pushed to find a good clean example with original proof of receipt. If something looks and smells like it has come of the printing press a day ago then that in my opinion would be an instant red flag. I'm happy to have a phone conversation and meet in person regarding the sale to help alleviate any concerns, an individual selling a fake is less likely to engage with a buyer in this manner so that again is something to consider. As well as paranoid.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by bonesy on Oct 1, 2019 21:43:00 GMT 1, Not really. According to the info all monies from this sale go to a decent and desperately needed cause. And it also stops a predatory capitalist attitude taking control (legally) of a name (BANKSY) that would be able to shift endless units of mass cock-womble designed and probably exploitatively produced bollocky, ass-hatted 'official' product for private gain. There’s also the irony that Banksy is asking for assistance to protect his brand from the public he tired of supplying to. Just so that he can continue providing to his vip list. It strikes me that without the lower level public clamour for his work the high end prices wouldn’t be propped up. Every so often he throws a bone to ensure that interest is maintained. He had to release the extra Grey Nola edition because of all the whining and entitlement when things didn't go as planned online and I believe something similar happened with the Choose Your Weapon release and he had to make the Grey edition. He's not tired of selling to the public. The whining and entitlement felt by so much of the public these days ruined it for everyone.
I ordered a signed Grannies from POW years ago and I received an email saying, sorry you are out of luck and the system sold the print number you were supposed to receive twice. I was pissed but I didn't yell at them and expect a Grey edition to be produced for me.
It's just where we are these days, don't blame Mr B for the s**tiness and entitlement of society these days.

Futura x Dismaland ???, by bonesy on Aug 6, 2019 22:33:21 GMT 1, don't think it has anything to do with dismaland, he is probably just a fan wearing merch like the rest of us. i believe he is doing a sneaker collaboration with nike/off white, so he may be at StockX HQ to discuss putting some of his products on their site. Another good artist meets sweatshops. Very sad to hear 😞 Pretty sure this is not Futura's first project with Nike.

Invader Hollyweed Print, by bonesy on Nov 6, 2018 11:42:17 GMT 1, Not sure I really understand the point of being mad at anyone flipping anything from Complexcon. The whole point of the thing seems to be brands trying to become more hyped and hoping people start lining up to buy and resell their stuff. Everyone’s upset at the flippe but how bout the fact that beloved Invader paid a lot of money for a booth (or whatever) at Complexcon to release a crap image that will appeal to even the most simple minded kid that skipped school to be there. Do you really think Invader released a print at Complexcon because he thought it was going to collectors?

A Banksy Painting 'Self-Destructed' Sold for $1.1Million, by bonesy on Oct 6, 2018 12:43:42 GMT 1, Are people not bag searched entering these places like in museums and exhibitions? Leave your car key fob at the entrance and retrieve on your way out?
Do you think that electrical device in the pic above is needed to trigger a paper shredder device? Admittedly, I know nothing about electronics but I’m sure a simple small button like a car key fob could carry out the job. That thing above looks like an audio recorder of some sort with a microphone to me.

Shepard Fairey Artwork, VALUATION, by bonesy on Sept 15, 2018 10:41:18 GMT 1, Does anyone know a gallery or professional that can quote a replacement price for an insurance claim for a Shepard Fairey print? I bought the print from Seth Carmichael gallery and the letter of authenticity does not have a sale date or price on it. M16 vs. AK-47 H/C large print originally sold at Merry Karnowsky gallery in 2006. It is a signed H/C print but in mint condition. The insurance investigator stated they could only find the small version of that print and did not consider the rarity of an H/C print. I don't think there is a small version of the print (m16 vs ak47) you are talking about. Its part of the Rise Above series shown below. I also don't think that it being an h/c makes it worth more or less then a PP, AP, or reg edition. If its an hpm then its worth quite a bit more. hpm
I’m guessing your insurance claim has been settled by now
Like Craig said, no small version of this image I’m not sure what your abbreviation H/C stands for but if yours is from the MK show in 2006 I think you have the HPM version, I don’t think they had the Rise Above editions of 50 at the show or even avail from the gallery afterwards. If your insurance company compared what you have to a smaller non H/C (whatever H/C means) then Im guessing they compared what you own to some 18 x 24 screenprint edition of 300 that was originally $35 or whatever. Or maybe they compared it to the Guns and Roses 24 x 36 offset? It’s a similar image. If you have a large HPM you need to tell your insurance guy to start looking to auction results for comparable sales not eBay.
