Mustard and navy obey letterpress, by fattyramone on Aug 1, 2014 9:15:01 GMT 1, Toast.
I know UPS inside out and they are very easy to deal with before hand to ensure you get the right customs code of 5% added before delivery instead of the 20% you've wrongly been charged.
My tax for this item was ยฃ4.36 ....although it should have been ยฃ7+.
But now that you've already paid , all is not lost and it's really quite easy to do with minimum faff.
On your pink slip there is a telephone number , ring it ...press option 2.
Have your waybill number handy and explain to the lady that answers that you've been overcharged on VAT , that you've been charged 20% instead of 5% and she issue a "H" number.
Now that you've already paid it will take 3 months but you will get refunded ..I promise!
Or ...I'll send you a PM with an email address of a UPS employer who knows Shepard Fairey very well and she will deal with it promptly ...still 3 months before you get a refund though

other members to pool for Art Alliance presale Print Set, by fattyramone on Jul 28, 2014 0:52:38 GMT 1, As others have mentioned it might be hard to do if everyone is paying the same amount. Why not have people bid on each. I'm sure people would be willing to pay more for some. That may allow others to get deals on the less popular artists. I think if you do it that way it should be easy to get to 2500. I'm not after any of them. Just a thought to help get you past only having interest in a flipper friendly prints. Good points , otherwise this is unlikely to happen.
With all the in-demand stuff already taken theres no incentive for a collector of the other stuff to get on board this ship when they could probably pick them them up when they go online and not have the faff of the double postage costs and all the other gumpf that goes with organising a collective.

Show us your Sex Pistols................., by fattyramone on Jul 21, 2014 22:40:16 GMT 1, Must be a different one? ....The one Helen is carrying is landscape , yours is portrait?
Wonderful collection though.
Just missed seeing them in Caerphilly , but eventually saw them in Finsbury Park , missed them at Crystal Palace , but still have the unused tickets , then saw them at Brixton , which was a bit of an anti-climax if I'm honest?
*** Edit *** this post refers to the Bambi poster

Show us your Sex Pistols................., by fattyramone on Jul 21, 2014 19:51:09 GMT 1, This is a superb database of all things records (memorabilia too) that some keeps up to date with all sorts of musical styles of what things "actually" sold for on Ebay as apposed to what they should sell for in guide books.
As far as I can tell it's independently catalogued so there's no ignoring the "rarity" that only sells for 10p that can influence the guide price
Below is the list of prices a genuine A&M GSTQ can fetch on a good day.
A good solid way of telling a genuine A&M from a bootleg is to check for the serrated "necklace" that you can see and feel where the outer perimeter of the label ends , no-ones been able to bootleg that particular feature yet ...as far as I know.

Tommy Ramone, by fattyramone on Jul 15, 2014 0:19:13 GMT 1, With 3 of them dying of some cancer related illness , and with Dee Dee dying early through drugs (so we'll never know what would have claimed him naturaly) it makes you wonder if that sometime in their past they weren't all commonly exposed to some cruddy , decaying rehearsal space giving off something toxic that eventualy claimed them all.
That or just sheer bad luck

Art Car Boot Fair, by fattyramone on Jun 8, 2014 22:58:57 GMT 1, Talking over the frustrations of lots of artists selling out within the first 15 mins of opening time one of our group came up with an idea to spread things around a bit over the duration of the day which I thought may work.
Taking Pure Evil as an example who's 4 main exclusive prints (unicorn , queen , stealing , Kitchener) sold out to the first 150 (if that!) through the gates how about if the artist released them at hourly intervals ?..say the Queen from 12-1pm ....Unicorn 1-2pm .....Stealing 2-3pm .....Kitchener 3-4pm ...shares the booty amongst more people and keeps the artists stall interesting throughout the day.

Art Car Boot Fair, by fattyramone on Jun 8, 2014 22:38:16 GMT 1, I agree there , the guy doing the selling knew she didn't know what she was buying , you and I knew she didn't know what she was buying and even she admitted she didn't know (nor want) what she was buying ....but she still laid out ยฃ220 !....a not insubstantial sum in anybodies book? These 2 prints that she has left now will languish for the next three decades at the back of a darkened French cupboard and become known within her family as "le grandmama's folly" Was she French??very very and absolutely French Yes , very and absolutely

Art Car Boot Fair, by fattyramone on Jun 8, 2014 21:41:18 GMT 1, Yep I was stood directly behind this woman, was trying to get the guy from jealous to sell them to me instead. She had no idea what they were, she wanted to open them. Told her what it was, she had no clue who Ben Eine was and the idiot from jealous sold them to her instead if a fan, thanks! Whole thing was a joke, there was a q at the eine signs and unbeknown to me and a lot of others jealous were selling the set pretty much without a q. Annoying when you leave and see people who were behind you in the q outside and the eine q inside with a couple of full sets because 1 of them in there group went to the jealous stand. 1st and last time for me there, walked away with nothing, pure evils gone by this point

Art Car Boot Fair, by fattyramone on Jun 8, 2014 21:38:13 GMT 1, I think I may have been the guy next to you as we exchanged eye glances to each other as the elderly French lady who was haggling with the exasperated seller over the very last set of 3 prints.
She patently didn't have a clue what she was buying , who Eine was nothing......
to be fair to the guy selling I think he wanted Me and you to split the cost between us and not sell to her , but she insisted it was hers and after a long drawn out war of words she gave him the ยฃ220 he wanted for the last of the prints
she was still muttering in a heavy French accent why she "had" to buy 3 when she only wanted one ...aggghh...
it was at this point me and you(?) asked her to sell us the two that she obviously didn't want ..her choice of colour-ways to sell us what she didn't want ,but by this time she was back tracking and saying they were for her daughter and we went in trek of her daughter...at this point I gave up on her , but she said to "come back later".
Two hours passed and I saw her again at her stall and reminded her of her request to come and see her later...and low and behold she kept her promise to sell me one of them ....I ended up with the Pink colourway. And she only wanted a fiver more than she had paid for it ....result all around.

Dubious claim to famed being threatened not once , but twice by Paul Simenon with a bass guitar over my head for gobbing in his face ....disgusting habit.

New Banksy?, by fattyramone on Apr 15, 2014 8:21:24 GMT 1, Towing one of these behind a transit works van wouldn't attract any attention from anybody and would give off the kind of lighting we see in the lovers work when it's needed.

Banksy+BNE for World Water Day, by fattyramone on Mar 27, 2014 1:35:12 GMT 1, Bravo Mmmmmike , your not alone in your measured responses to what is only a minor crisis for the majority of buyers of this T-shirt, and yes one of them too. A crisis that is easily resolved by hitting the paypal claim button and getting the $100 back within hours if not minutes. Personal crisis over.
And bravo too to the others on here that are resisting the knee jerk reaction to join a lynch mob.
Carry on as you are Sargent .

Banksy+BNE for World Water Day, by fattyramone on Mar 25, 2014 22:05:30 GMT 1, For the last time, BNE Organics LLC did not "help the charity." They did damage to it, which is the reason Charity Water has taken legal action against them. BNE is literally costing the charity money at this point. And Charity Water is on our side of the argument, not yours. So stop invoking them as way to justify BNEs t-shirt scam. Some of us actually volunteer time to charity and/or are sustaining members of charitable organizations who don't need a Banksy t-shirt as an impetus to do good. Again you don't know the history. BNE has been raising funds for this charity for a while now. This wasn't the first event. Before that BNE did direct water projects fund raising. He has done a lot more than I ever have and likely a lot more than most on this board have done to improve the lives of the world's poor. The "legal action" the charity is taking is largely a reaction to all the inquiries they have got from people b**ching about their precious banksy t-shirts. BNE screwed up. They have to to protect themselves. They are not claiming BNE withheld funds or wronged the charity directly they are just being cautious until they know the facts, as they should. We don't know all the facts but it seems that he has screwed up. The people here b**ching and going over board are just making things worse. If it comes out that BNE was stealing money then go after him after you have those facts. I'm sure paypal is on top of it and will escalate if need be. I don't think that is the case but who knows? For now we know there is a man who has devoted his life to helping others who screwed up in some way. Just what the screw up was and how stupid it was isn't fully known. I would argue that at this stage a witch hunt isn't required. Get your refund now and move on with your life. Or better yet prove you could do a better job and raise funds for the charity yourself. Let's say he raised $50k a year. go out and do that for 10 years then come back and b**ch.
