Breaking news - Panama papers, by tartarus on Apr 9, 2016 14:46:51 GMT 1, Great job, borrowed more money than any chancellor ever, sold more public assets than any chancellor ever, has a higher national debt than any chancellor ever. NHS f**ked/ sold off/intentionally underfunded, steel (was to be left for dead, but thats now too risky so its all hands on deck), Schools all being sold out of state control (sorry by sold i mean given away!), tax avoidance is rampant and it seems lauded as its technically legal, spiralling costs everywhere, unaffordable houses, record homelessness, huge amounts of public sector workers headed for mass strike action in a desperate attempt to save the services they know we need and blatant mass manipulation and even the hiding of statistics that would expose the shameful results of their economic practices. i could give you more examples if needed. Im hoping you will point out their successes, or at least an insight into how you think they have done a good job. But as you say, your not really paying attention, more lip service. While claiming I have been spoon fed. I'm not getting into a politics debate with you of who is right and wrong. You have your views and I have mine. I could give a list of headline positives too but unless we both fully understood the situations in each case (and we certainly don't) then it just becomes the case as always on forums where the loudest voice is heard. I am certain if we had the time the majority of points we would agree on. Back on topic, hope tax havens are sorted... ok, please do provide the headline positives. Im very interested to hear them. Its not enough to say you won't debate it, we already are. You just don't seem to want to back your case.

Breaking news - Panama papers, by tartarus on Apr 9, 2016 14:05:33 GMT 1, You state pretty clearly that you don't see much issue with the way they have run the country. Mainly because the problems havnt effected you!! how do you step away from that? its tory rhetoric to the max. Maybe you see it as a personal attack, but i see it as me representing what i perceive as your view, and the reasoning for it. which i have to say, i perceive as an I'm alright Jack attitude. Im challenging your point based on the fact i would like to live in a fair system, not the crippling one we have where the few are ok, so since they are in charge, the world doesn't need change! My appooigies for being more interested in the well being of the many rather than the few!! I just watched dodgy dave, He said the will publish the information the goes into his tax return. He very very nearly said he would publish his tax return, but he very carefully pulled himself back in and changed to "the information" . That pretty much shows he is still playing the dodgy card, you could read the pain in his face as he realised what he had said. Again I state that I feel the government have done a good job tackling the economy. I can't tell you what has and what hasn't been cut or who is effected but I do have a fundamental belief that if you get £10 in you can't continue spending £12. There will be a colapse as has happened. Everyone is going to feel the cuts, yes some more than others but fundamentally every one is having to take it to try and get the basics correct. Is it the best way, I don't know, but it's easy to condem with the benefit of hindsight. When it comes to the mega rich such as bankers and footballers, they get paid what they are worth to the company. Do I think footballers get paid too much l? Absofriginloutly but the clubs who pay their wages wouldn't say so. That's because they bring in more value. As do bankers and every single person paid to do what they do. It would be much better if footballers were on 30k and the excess better used to fund the NHS but the reality is if one club doesn't pay them the next one will.... Unless we turn to communism of course. Great job, borrowed more money than any chancellor ever, sold more public assets than any chancellor ever, has a higher national debt than any chancellor ever.

Breaking news - Panama papers, by tartarus on Apr 9, 2016 13:23:27 GMT 1, yeah, that'll be it. what other figures would you want? id say it has kept to the specifics and clearly states the points of necessity. so far your point is revolving around the fact that you aren't effected by it so it isn't a problem. Thats a pretty insular set of facts to deal with, and pretty much shows a total lack of concern for your fellow man.It also pretty much encapsulates what is wrong with this government. Totally out of touch with real people/the majority, unable to have empathy for others and brimming with self interest. The issue is governments & organisations that have an objective create stats like this to back their particular cause, its propoganda & all sides do it. I am merely stating this clearly doesnt give all the information. Unless you know the full story, whats involved in processing both investigations your just accepting what your being spoon fed. Its just like the EU vote. How anybody can make an educated decision I do not know. All the information out there has some form of twist on it to back a specific side. Lots of it completely contradictory. As I mentioned I have issues, issues that arnt mine but that i see in society and those are the things that are important to me and what I feel is important to the country. Im not going to go into them because I dont expect you to care what I think. I am not a tory through and through. I work a lot with charities and fund raising and I am seeing what your saying from your point of view as well as my own. Hence I dont make personal remarks about you and I will only criticise myself. Breaking news - Panama papers, by tartarus on Apr 9, 2016 12:30:50 GMT 1, Some council and social security departments, staff are involved in the fraud also the same in passport and other departments where staff are not vetted properly. Although I don't know all the facts I'm fairly sure there is a reason for the at least some of the difference in numbers. That image is made specifically to provoke a reaction from people. It's not showing all the facts, just the one that helps create the reaction they need. I'm not aware of what's required to investigate benefit fraud but I am aware that for vat inspections it requires one person to visit the companies office for half the day, they go through the vat reports and then that person creates a report. Pretty efficient process that doesn't require lots of people. yeah, that'll be it.

How do you mean? Just literal fraud in the workplace? i say just! don't mean it like its not important, but in context. I remember reading something years ago, where all the staff in a Job Centre in Bradford i think, were all caught signing on!!

Breaking news - Panama papers, by tartarus on Apr 9, 2016 10:52:38 GMT 1, Your right Rufus those things have not effected me and so I can only judge and make decisions based on the world as I have seen it. I agree there are many many areas that should receive more funding, but where is the money going to come from for that? All the issues you mention there, and I agree they are real issues, are all linked to money. To cure the problem I believe you have to cure the fundamental problem of affording it. Regarding benefits, again I can only give my opinion on the world as I have seen it and I'm sorry but there are so many scroungers who are on benefits because it's better than getting a job, many that claim disability to get around the system. I am sure the majority must be genuine cases however from the people I know, it's infuriating that I go to work to help pay for them to stay at home. I have no problem with rich people that have earned their money. They have every right to be a high earner if they bring that value to a company. So long as they pay the correct tax. We aren't a communist country after all.
Wow!! Your first line sums it up real well. I've not been effected, and so screw the rest of you, I'm not worrying about that!!! How Tory to the core of you.
Ignorance to the facts, I'm alright jack, it's those lazy people on benefits. The only thing you forgot is the immigrants and you'd have a full hand of Tory bulls**t propaganda to play with.

Breaking news - Panama papers, by tartarus on Apr 6, 2016 17:48:24 GMT 1, Bloomberg: Iceland’s prime minister resigns following “Panama Papers” leak. Was just about to post the same. He walked out of an interview yesterday! First casualty. Pressure from Corbyn who is insisting on an independent investigation into those involved in the UK. Has offered to publish his own tax return and said others should do the same! C'mon Cameron!! Im a bit lost on this point coach. Isn't the point of the offshore bit that you don't bother to tell the tax man, as he can't see it anyway? to me showing the tax return is closing the stable door after the money has already bolted. Am i wrong in the assumption the tax man won't have seen/be able to see that money?
Not5 that I'm jumping on JC, just what i thought when dodgy Dave mentioned it yesterday.

Breaking news - Panama papers, by tartarus on Apr 5, 2016 10:16:35 GMT 1, Confiscate the lot and use it to trial basic income in each country that got ripped off i say.
Im looking forward to seeing how this unfolds over the next few months. I think the ripples from this will bring some change. Sadly not the one above, but this really is a popcorn moment that will roll on for a while.

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by tartarus on Mar 30, 2016 23:40:45 GMT 1, Re-activating the thread, I too own a proof copy of Laugh Now, but its not signed or numbered and Pest Control declined to authenticate via their online form a few - six? - years ago. I know it's real because got it from the office of the owner of the premises where the Santa's Ghetto sales event was held, as one of a selection of samples from the sale. It has a rough pencil sketch on the reverse of two seated figures(!) Looking through this thread and other online info, I note that there was an Artists Proof edition of 69 that were also signed and numbered. This is neither. Is it possible that there were seventy proofs and this one got taken off the top of the pile as the sale was being set up and before Banksy showed up for the signing? I'm hoping the answer will be positive and have re-applied to Pest Control as anyone who knows what they're looking at can verify this print. I live in Central London and will happily take it to them for verification... Whether this happens or not, I am determined to sell my Banksy, because I am SO skint. I'll give Pest Control a month, then stick it on eBay, probably. If I can't get verification, some lucky person - most likely, a London-based dealer - is going to get a bargain. They won't give it. It wasn't meant for sale. Real or otherwise, you won't be getting a coa for it.

The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by tartarus on Mar 26, 2016 12:36:21 GMT 1, I'm an outie I would just like to hear the facts form a completely non biased view, in simple terms (lots of pictures please) because right now I want to be an outie mainly to feel a bit of anarchy in my veins, the great unknown, no one will starve because of it, f**k it, lets see what happens kind of emotion? I dont want to hear all the s**t about we wont get electric at the right price ( we haven't had it at the right price for years), I hate all the fear bulls**t, we wont be able to buy BMW cars anymore, or Porsches, and f**k me all the cheese exporters will boycot us all forever Tourists won't come here anymore!! think you forgot that one.
Then theres that map, money into europe from us, money to us from europe. How much manipulated is that! Again, assuming tourists won't come here and literally no one from europe will buy or sell with us, then maybe there would be a shred of truth. But as ever, it chooses to ignore the fact we had trade and tourism before and we will still have it after. Just a few new rules.
Manipulation and fear will decide how this vote turns out, as the powers that be know exposing everyone to fear will gain them the decision they want us to make.
If fear guides your choices, change is unlikely.

Donald Trump - "Trump Art Collection" , by tartarus on Mar 24, 2016 0:43:17 GMT 1, Personally, the only context I want to see Donald in is a John Oliver rant. Or maybe the obituaries of the New York Times!
Ok, so thats harsh, but fuck it, its him or us!!

Visit LONDON 🏴 Street Art, Galleries, Events, by tartarus on Mar 18, 2016 23:16:54 GMT 1, Dungle I've already put that Citzen Kane piece up and surprised no one had made a comment on it. Very impressive piece. Perhaps seeing again may cause some debate as his work doesn't get much mention on here and has been around Shoreditch for some time. I never understand why he isn't more talked about. He does some amazing pieces and the processes are seriously time consuming and intricate. He has a few videos of him making them on the web.

art on the streets. street art/graff video, by tartarus on Mar 14, 2016 18:03:21 GMT 1, Cool video from atefact
Walk around the East End of London and you’ll find a huge amount of artwork on the street – from Space Invader’s tile designs to Mr. Cenz’ intricate graffiti pieces, all forms and styles of art seem to line the streets of the capital.
But the nature of this artwork means that so much of the world remains hidden, unable, or refusing, to showcase itself like the work put up in galleries.
Graffiti as a culture especially, remains hidden, only really known to other graffiti artists and members of the culture.
We decided to take a look into the immense subculture of both graffiti and street art, looking at some of the aspects that much of the public never get to see, and showing the interconnected nature of all the art that’s put on the street; a look behind the artwork.
