Zhao ๐ธ๐ฌ Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by johnnyh on Sept 9, 2014 19:36:37 GMT 1, Of the 1.3 billion Chinese only about 70million have travelled outside China so there is not a shortage of mates for him.
Worth noting only about 20% of Americans have a passport.....
Now not saying he shouldn't have a passport and travel just saying there are probably more important things!!

Zhao ๐ธ๐ฌ Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by Deleted on Sept 9, 2014 22:06:12 GMT 1, zhao is making t-shirts, silkscreen prints and giving them away free. all you need to do is upload 20 photos on your instagram account. 20 photos of these 4 words at different locations "Ai Can't Be Here." remember to post it with this hashtag #aicantbehere so we can verify. help Ai Weiwei get his passport back - let the world know expression cannot be silenced. thank you. No thanks.
It sounds too cultish.
getting people to post 20 photos with Ai cant be here message.
Answer this question.
Is Ai Wei Wei in trouble for his art?
His art made by assistants is promoted as being provocative to western viewers and people wrongly believe his art is the reason that he has had his passport taken away.
It isnt.
This whole Ai promotion stuff looks to me like he is milking sympathy for his problems in China to promote himself and make money from his so called art in the west.
His art isn't even any good.
Here is another question for you.
If he did not owe the government tax why did he ask supporters to give him money to pay this huge tax bill?
www.haszysz.net/film/MdHxvfB_UcU.html
Here is another question.
Whats the real reason his house was demolished?
There are two sides to every coin and there are some things which are not revealed.
This article by Yoichi Shimatzu goes into some detail as to goings on in China.
""As the Shanghai case illustrates, Ai Weiwei is not only an artist, architect, filmmaker, curator, social critic and dissenter, he is also a low-end property developer with an apparently sloppy ledger book, rife with shady accounting practices. To some heโs a great artistic talent, but as a businessman heโs known for skirting the rules. His loosely administered property dealings have long raised eyebrows among academic artists and municipal officials in Beijing.
Now, as the hidden associations with Shanghaiโs boss, who abused political power to evict thousands of residents from their homes, come out, the truth is blowing apart Ai Weiweiโs phony "anti-corruption" crusade. No wonder he keeps his fat mouth shut about the sordid details.
Readymade Rebel
Whatever his claims of political persecution, the fact is that Chinese authorities have shown nearly infinite latitude toward this artistic maverick and social rebel. Their muted acceptance of his barrage of insults illustrates how, at the gut level, the Chinese are more democratic than their ultra-polite and class-conscious peers in Japan, Thailand and India.
Across the entire continent, there is no artist who can come close to Ai Weiwei in outrageousness, as expressed in 2000 with a group exhibition that he co-curated titled "Fโk Off". His publicity materials used all four letters. There are cities in America and Europe where you couldnโt get away with printing the offensive word on posters and flyers. Just imagine the reaction to such an arts event in Karachi or Riyadh. So freedom of expression in China is a lot safer than in many other parts of the world.""

Zhao ๐ธ๐ฌ Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by Gentle Mental on Sept 10, 2014 1:52:32 GMT 1, www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2012/oct/31/ai-weiwei-returns-tax-money
the case is neither open nor close. it hadn't move for months. passport was taken away for no reason. the money was given by fans. he never asked for it. He has returned the money. authorities showed tolerance because it was "arty", there are many chinese artists that does shocking stuff, but when it reveals a truth, that's when it stopped being funny. not many chinese artists reveal this kind of truths. those who do are either in prison or in exile.
we need ai to come out to reveal more truths.

Zhao ๐ธ๐ฌ Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by stvro22 on Sept 10, 2014 2:54:35 GMT 1, All very well but...... I am not criticising Ai Wei Wei here. I am criticising you who is just spreading untruths so you can have your little campaign and sell your T shirts. You should be celebrating that he is doing ok now. Not trying to keep it going. You need to move on....it won't sell your shirts and you canvases but hey that's life.
You couldn't be more right JohnnyH. I'm tired of reading about these lame attempts at them tying themselves to Ai. Their heads are so far up Ai's you know what they could post one of their little signs in there.

ai Wei Wei is not in prison and well he's quite obviously in exile. He is free to do what he wants in China. He makes millions from his shows. He has his daily flower protest which he is allowed to carry out uninterrupted or interfered with by the Govt. details of his protest are clearly documented in his interview with Timeout Beijing and Shanghai so it's very open.
Ps. It's all a myth that the Chinese threw money over his wall they did not. The Chinese don't do that. But it read well in the west and by the likes of you.
Problem is since his first protests etc China has changed a lot it does so on a daily basis. The State is no longer bothered by him and he no longer wants to upset them as he is making too much money and living too well.
as as say much better protests to make...

Zhao ๐ธ๐ฌ Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by highly framable on Sept 11, 2014 13:15:43 GMT 1, There are lots of causes out there to support. We just want to do ourt bit to highlight this one. We love art and we love artists. We are doing our part to help one of us.
We feel ai weiwei's influence is important. Getting his passport back is giving his voice back.
We regret the hate for us has somehow led to the hate for ai weiwei. That would be our last intention.
We are not selling anything or doing any kind big name piggyback marketing or asking for list of buyers names to bump a print release. We just wanted to help an artist we love.
We would do the same for banksy or shep or Blu if they're in the same kind of trouble. Because their work meant something. We will try to help. No matter how rich they are.
We ask the administrator to please close this thread. We are afraid we are doing more harm than good here.
Out deepest Thank you to everyone who supported us. Do keep in touch via pm fb twitter and Instagram. We will be active!
Peace and love to everyone.

There is no hate for Highly Frameable on here or for Ai Wei Wei.
It's just that people don't like being manipulated so that Weiwei can continue to be attractive to western sponsors.
Those Ai can't be here photos look like they are staged to me with actors posing.
If you want to promote and sell WeiWei art the do it and sell it by all means.
Do you want this thread closed because you don't like free speech?

Zhao ๐ธ๐ฌ Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by johnnyh on Sept 11, 2014 17:28:26 GMT 1, HF/Gental
This thread got the way it did because you lied about Ai Wei Wei's situation. He is on the internet they aren't making him disappear. He is doing interviews, his art is not banned. It was taken out of one show in a Govt gallery ..the show put there by a foreigner. No govt officials want to be in the media next to him and his art. But he can do private......the withdrawal of his work was also in the media in China. The organisers said it affected attendance as few people visited the show.
You say no piggy back marketing....but in your second post....... the second post of this thread you post two Pictures of the canvas that you are selling on your site??
You basically only create and sell Ai Wei Wei based art with the odd exception. So what you sell and your cause are very related.
So I suppose the point is Ai Wei Wei has moved on...China has moved on...why haven't you??
I can see why you want to close it. Only so many paste up and pull it off quick A4 pieces of paper you can do quietly in Sing. Till it looks false and the same......
Although not sure why a mod would delete it!!

Zhao ๐ธ๐ฌ Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by pcant on Sept 11, 2014 18:30:21 GMT 1, Congratulations, you bombed another thread. Clearly, you have a major issue with both the gallery and the artist, which compels you to mount these campaigns, and I must admit these threads can be kind of interesting, like a train wreck, but what is the purpose? Are you just going to shout down any HF thread that appears on the forum? To be honest, you guys are attacking him/them with such fervor, it makes me think he struck a nerve. And don't say you're just having a discussion. You are burying the thread in angry posts. Maybe I'm the only one who finds it tiring, or maybe now I'll get attacked as well, but it seems like, if you have a personal dispute with someone on the forum, at some point you need to settle it off the forum instead of hijacking all of his/their threads. And ffs, YES, this is a discussion site. And YES, politics are a big part of art. But much like the WCP posts, these threads that you target become page after page of useless sniping and anger. How is that productive? You ask why HF hasn't "moved on," right?

re WCP sorry you may like fakes but I think they have no place on an art forum. So yes in that case as well.
ps your welcome to target my sales threads
