Want Spots? do your own or buy a copy for pennies. Hirsts even redoing those piggin Deckchairs, fair enough albeit for a couple of hundred when poor old Brandler (lol and lol again) is asking thousands for the same!.

James at Manifold was a total pleasure to deal with too.
I've no idea if its a good investment or not, but it does get lots of comments, and I really like how they polarise opinion, people either say wow that looks great, or think its a totally overpriced waste of paper and ink!!
the earlier spot prints seem to go for a fair bit more than the original price, but it really is a buyers market for spot prints, if you're not after one specific print then there's a lot out there. And I agree that I'm sure they will keep churning them out in some form or other from now til the dawn of time...
I'm not 100% on this but I thought there was some sort of book/compendium released as part of the big spot exhibitions this summer?

it's very easy to buy one, there's lots to choose from!
check artnet for pricing history. I'm sure Hirst knows what he's doing and will release as many as possible without tipping the scales too far and devaluing his own market.
but again, if you're thinking of buying one to try and make loads of ยฃยฃยฃ then I wouldn't bother. I really like mine and am sure if I wanted to move it on in a few years time I won't have lost huge sums of money, but won't turn a huge profit either, which is fine by me. would prefer something nice on the walls than a number on a bank statement any day =]

Been on the look out for a spot print for about year or so and this filled the gap nicely. Edition of 150, cost ยฃ2400, beautifully packaged and a pleasure to open. Currently at John Jones getting framed the way it should be in a white box frame. The paper dimensions are reasonable at 597 x 546 mm and the quality of the print and paper is excellent. Also if you check out Hirsts first spot prints they have half spots along the edges & if I recall correctly not many of the current versions do, so its a nice connection to the source of the series.

I broke with the mould and floated the image on a white background, but with a black frame. Looks fantastic.

The print should soon be released. Participants will get their stamped challenger cards back with the print. Important as mine was signed by Hirst at the opening in NY. He even made a drawing on it, lucky me. The card is an artwork now.
Could Hirst have made something that combines the cards and the print? What's the point having to let go of the card after finishing anyway. They took scans of passports everywhere to prove you visited the gallery.
Does anyone have a clue on what the reward will look like?
Framing will be a challenge on it's own. Hope to get some advise. Problem will be transport. I live in The Netherlands, so after pick-up it will have to be framed and transported home.

Edit - Ive seen 5 others now - all with the same "dedication/drawing" - my dedication request was something else - although that does not in anyway concern me - I love what he wrote/sketched!
Looks like all the Hirst dedications come with a name, signature, heart, skull, shark and butterfly.
