Who said price is not of importance?? IMHO if these were priced differently (£100 bracket) then i could understand.
Being priced at £250 i can see this single issue hurting the artist more than helping. Happy to eat my words if I'm wrong, and this is just my opinion, more fool the people that dismiss the opinions of 98% of people?

I think we can fairly safely assume Silky will say, yes they're worth £250 as he obviously has a lot of time for cartrain and all the rest of it, but then what does anyone learn from that answer? Not very much I think.

It seems fairly obvious to me that the general consensus is that the price is too high; someone has already said it's the sort of price you'd expect for a unique canvas and I tend to agree with that. Being an edition of 5 makes the price something of a nonsense for the first released works of a new artist and I imagine these paintings will be available for a very long time indeed. I think we (and hopefully cartrain and those who represent him will too) learn a lot more from that than any of us will from hounding Silky to put his money where his mouth is.

Wasn't meaning to come across as hounding anyone.

Just figured a lot of people were slating the quality of the images & canvas, and Silky is the only person I know with one of CT's canvasses, therefore one of few on the thread that these might appeal to.

Nail on the head that the response was only ever going to be that Silky felt they were valuable and right again that they may end up sat unsold for some time.

Also, curiousgeorge spot on here and I guess my point re earlier post on over hyping and over pricing - more damage than good to a 'breaking' artist.

The second canvas with Mickey in it is missing the tail -- I know the tail is thin and therefore probably harder to stencil, but that doesn't mean it should be left out. Remember, God is in the de-tails.

I think Beejoirs stuff are pants. and that blurry mary thing... good god whats that all about man...... i think thats waaay overpriced. I dont get any of pure evil's bunnies too. to be honest, i think if i had to choose, i'll choose CT's THE SHINING stencil over that any day.
