Visit BRISTOL π¬π§ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by stillborncrisps on Oct 20, 2008 22:02:16 GMT 1, there's also that cats and dogs freehand piece on the side of that anarchist shop - can't remember the road/district - someone help!
Also check the click clak boom on Cato St - and go up the alley at the end of Cato St, there's loads of (non banksy) weird things.
You can get a return from digbeth to bristol by National Express bus for about Β£20 (or cheaper if you can get their 'fun fares') - takes 2 hours, only 30 mins longer than the train.
BTW - if you can get down this weekend there's a new Urban Art Show opening: jerforceone.wordpress.com/2008/10/16/weapon-of-choice-presents-the-bristol-festival-exhibition/

Visit BRISTOL π¬π§ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by mattrshaw on Oct 21, 2008 14:25:45 GMT 1, Hi everyone. Thanks for the pointers, I have noted them all down and will try see them all on my little day trip. Never been to Bristol before so your comments have helped immensely. I found the Zeemaps website useful but it didn't have half the ones you have told me about.
Rich00> Well I actually worked doing new media in construction/housing which obviously is screwed so i'm going into graphic & web design specifically for a creative design agency which cater for large financial institutions. Bit of out of the fire, into the frying pan!!! As I say at least they're getting bailed out. Construction industry wont recover fully until 2010. It's taken a year for things to go down, so it will take at least a year for things to recover.

Visit BRISTOL π¬π§ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by gerry on Jan 7, 2009 16:45:25 GMT 1, Think the Gorilla's at least badly tagged, if not gone altogether. A flickr search may throw some light on it.
As for shows, not really, no. 12 Days has closed, Guerilla Galleries is closed whilst it relocates, the friend and co gallery has a new What Collective show opening a week today, but is tiny (if cool). If you're into art generally (as opposed to street/graf/urban/whatever), there are always galleries open round the christmas steps/park row area, but otherwise it's all a bit quiet really.
If you hang around til the Tuesday there's live painting and all that antics down at Weapon of Choice at Mr Wolf's that night, but otherwise, not much on at the mo!

Visit BRISTOL π¬π§ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by gerry on Jan 8, 2009 18:55:39 GMT 1, cheers everyone. does anyone know excatly where the masked gorilla is on fishponds road? it seems to be a really long road. I have looked on flickr and other websites and can't seem to find any further info. cheers. (also bus info would be helpful :-) )
It's on the wall of north bristol social club, so if you're round there you may as well go and check out the Cato Street Banksy stuff whilst you're at it, here's a tiny url to a google map with them both marked on - tinyurl.com/a8rna2 (the gorilla is point A)
Buses, dunno, but train from temple meads to Stapleton Road brings to right by Cato Street, then a short walk up to Fishponds Road.
