Visit BRISTOL π¬π§ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by thelastbushome on Jan 27, 2008 17:25:45 GMT 1, I am only in Bristol for one day to collect my graffle prizes I'm still surprised that I won as I don't win on anything especially with only buying 2 tickets! but whilst I am there I would like to see some classic street pieces by the Bristol artists. If anyone could let me know by the street names or postcodes that are worth a visit whilst I am there, that would be great. Thanks, Cellze what did you win?

I went along last night some lovely work in there, a 'Deadgirl' piece took my fancy though im saving for a trip to the framers, so must resist. The 'Cheba' skatedecks are also very nice, as were the 45rpm pieces, I have a soft spot for the cute owl and turtle.

Visit BRISTOL π¬π§ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by mattrshaw on Oct 20, 2008 14:49:38 GMT 1, Hi everyone. I plan to travel all way to Bristol for the sole purpose of fulfilling an ambition from the last few years of seeing a real piece of Banksy street art as he intended.
I live in Birmingham and I have 2 weeks off in next few weeks when I'm redundant (thanks to housing sector!) before I start my new job as a graphic designer (for financial institutions, hmm not smart! at least they're getting bailed out!) so I was thinking of missioning it to Bristol for the day just so I could go for a walk and see a authentic Banksy work on the street as Banksy intended it to be experienced.
If anyone else has done this before or knows the city of Bristol well I would appreciate any tips or advice for my mission!
It's 80 odd miles each way from Birmingham on the train and will cost a bomb knowing the price of train fares so I want to make sure Iβve done my home work when I get there and donβt go home empty handed (metaphorically!).
I know there are more Banksy works in London but I'm doing this little day trip on a budget(!) so thought it'd be easier and better to see Banksy homeland of Bristol. I have made a note in my sat nav of the 4-5 locations on the Zeemaps website at www.zeemaps.com/map.do?group=1571
Are there any others that I'm missing that I should go and see? I'm only interested in genuine banksy street art, no collections or galleries (or fakes for that matter!) I want to see the real thing. Itβs all a bit spontaneous but I have an urge to go and see one for real, lifeβs too short!!
Any advice which may help would be greatly appreciated and I thank you all in advance for your time.

Visit BRISTOL π¬π§ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by mattrshaw on Oct 20, 2008 15:04:09 GMT 1, Hello fellow Brummie! My mates think im insane for doing a 160mile round trip from Brum just to see "a bit of graffiti" as they put it. I tried explaining it but I think it went over their heads nevermind I wish Banksy would get his ass over to Birmingham, there is certainly enough urban decay around where I live to inspire him LOL! Thanks for the advice! I will try PM'ing them both.

Here's a few off the top of my head:
Mild Mild West - Cheltenham Road Reaper - Thekla Social, Near Arnolfini (Docks) Masked Gorilla - Fishponds Road, Eastville Banksy Bridge - M32 (near IKEA) Marksman - Park Row (opposite BRI) Window Lovers - Park Street Heavy Weaponry - Round the corner from Mild Mild West (i think)
You could get the book 'Banksy's Bristol' to read on the train (don't know if it gives actual locations)
Otherwise, as stated above, PM Slammer, or just ask the locals when you in town...
Enjoy! B

there's an old one in St Pauls by the doctors - take all the money and run i think it's called (sorry forgotten the name of the road) but you should just walk up gloucester road as there's loads of great graff round there.
