I was looking at framing options for a print recently and wanted to recreate Warhol’s style.. can across this

The frame is commonly known as the Kulicke frame—a welded aluminum frame attached with screws to a wooden support frame. The support holds the glazing, the artwork, mat board, and backing board securely within the aluminum shell. Designed in 1960 by Robert Kulicke (1924-2007), founder of New York’s Kulicke Frames, this frame design became a staple of late 20th-century art displays, when tastes favored simplicity over ornamentation.

Actually, the modern ones are not made with the original screens. The original screens are actually being held in Switzerland. Only black stamps use the original screens. However, the quality is excellent for the price. GLTWS

Lot's of dodgy black stamps around. The vast majority are fake. They occasionally come up for auction but they are not "cheap"

If you're looking for a cheap Warhol - his polaroid's sometimes go for relatively little money (or, they did)

Although the quality of these are good - they are total knock offs and not worth more than a few hundred quid at best. 

These are what have been cropping up in various auction houses (you know the ones) and being sold as legit. 

The guy selling them is making a fucking fortune doing it.

Bizarrely there are many genuine "vintage" fakes of black stamps also. If it was legit, oops. Didnt think any of the black stamps were done in diamond dust. Could be wrong.

I have spoken to the chap that runs this eBay store before. Called him out and he blocked me. I am very curious as to what screens are being used to produce these. If anyone has any further info to this guy, please do send me a message. I am genuinely curious.

I don’t really understand how this is ok. FB and Twitter are liable for things posted on their platform. Why is eBay never liable when someone uses them for large scale scams?

yep I was close to buying 2 last year but when I asked around with members like Lcal they all said leave well alone - thanks god as I saved myself a good 3k!!!!

I bet the guy has some tenuous link to Warhol. Civil cases are expensive and a case like this would be hard to prove, especially if this guy does have some "link"

Very few unsigned proofs are genuine, there are some out there, the estate sold a few mainly from editions published in the US, CP Mulder had quite few unsigned flowers prints which made their way to the market after he died, and the publisher of the chairs in Zurich held back a few electric chairs. These are all reproductions, consider prints from these series sell for £40-200,000 including unsigned proofs with estate authentication. As OP said worth a few hundred quid.

But does it have to be a civil case? Can’t they just say “you’re not allowed to use our platform because XX (some dodgy legal reason)“. I mean, Twitter doesn’t get sued for banning a user. If the same content pops up on a different account, it gets banned as well.

I’m sure they could but check his feedback! Not a single unhappy customer. This guy is probably doing 200k USD a year selling these.

I have been offered these as low as $1,500 a plate. From what I understand the printing of these is done in Florida, so the eBay seller is either the producer or someone local who has bought from source.

Screens were produced from high def image separations done in photoshop from originals. I'm yet to see a diamond dust one in person but from the pictures it doesn't look like there is any DD on these.
