Hi all - long time lurker/member, first time poster.

I was just curious as to the value of a couple of prints that I own, that I may be looking to shift in the near future (as I am needing the money to complete my Masters).

Namely Banksy's "Love is in the Air" and "Queen Victoria" (both unsigned, with the latter print being numbered in double figures and both are framed, albeit crappily). Now, I am loath to part with them, as they are great prints, but sadly I am coming to terms with the fact that I like money more!

I originally bought them through eBay in May 2003, so the only provenance I have are the emails from the guy I bought them from (and obviously, they are pre-POW stamping), although I guess I could mail him to ask him where HE got them from.

But I digress. Any clue to how much I could get for them?

EDIT: They were originally purchased from the Greenleaf bookshop in Bristol (which unfortunately is now closed).

£1,500ish each I guess depending on whether anyone has any money left after the Micallef releases. Provenece will help a lot so it will be worth trying to get hold of the seller if they are still on the bay

Two fantastic prints. most recent prices on ebay - Queen Vic £1650 (early august 2007), love is in the air 1480 (mid july), 1400 mid august. Hope this helps and good luck!

Thanks craigf and medicjones, the info is much appreciated. I will probably be popping them up on eBay within the next week or so and hoping they reach the valuations suggested by yourselves

Although, that being said, I am open to offers from people on here, if anybody has that kind of cash handy (which would save me having to list them on eBay). Mmm.

it must have full provenance. It must be mint. Pictures must be provided. I would like for one that has been archivally framed, or in a acid free portfolio (not one that has been in a tube for years)

be careful on this - i bought one a few months
ago - hi res photos of this image are hard to
come by - as the red is so ... RED

Anyway the red section on the one i bought
had scuff marks which were verified by ben at
pow to be after sale marks.

The print went back - I eventually got my money
back - so beware on this one.

some slight marks in the vast rich red area of this print are quite common and not necessarily after sale. they aren't really noticeable.

perhaps what you are talking about dotdot was something more extreme tho.

i have one and there are marks in the red just darker marks or red But £1100 is no were near what it is worth its worth twice that

I have to agree... I paid £2k for one in May, and I doubt they have gone down in price since then and would expect to pay atleast that today. Great print... good luck with the search!

its a beautiful print - one of his best in my opinion. i reckon an unsigned would be a bargain at £2k!

Last one sold for 1400 pounds about 3 or 4 weeks ago on the bay. Only one bidder. The previous few ranged between 1200-1500.

it seems like prices are all over the board on this one. the only ones i have seen recorded this year range from $1000-3000. so i took a stab at $2200. anyway, i think some of you who are estimating around $5000 might only be saying that because you already own one

bottom line is listen to ricosg11, and help me out. if anyone has one for sale please pm me before ebay. i want this one in a frame really bad, and soon. thanks

one or two have gone for around £2k, the vast majority sold this year have failed to break £1.5k. i would say £1350 to be a fiar price to expect to pay. less, a bargain, more, a good sale.

I've decided to see what kind of offers I get for it on here. Initially, I was going to bung it directly onto eBay, but I thought it would be a better idea to deal with dedicated collectors (that's you guys), rather than randoms.

Just a quick FYI, this is for cash offers only and not trades. As much as I would like to fill the gaping hole that this would leave in my collection, I'm more inclined towards cash, in order to complete my Masters!

Edit: Received written confirmation from Andy @ POW that the prints were sold through the Greenleaf bookshop, as my eBay seller stated. Hope that clears up any provenance issues.

Just wondering what, if the estimate at Bloomsbury for an unsigned is £2-3k, what a signed one is worth.
A very good friend of mine was given one as a wedding present a few years back and is intrigued.

Any thoughts?

the bloomsbury, like any auction house, have estimates far from reality (although they will sell for big money). an unsigned is around 1.5 and a signed is somewhere around 6.

the last signed one i saw recorded this year went for around 5.2
