Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by RBK on Aug 1, 2007 2:30:07 GMT 1, And btw... if I were a betting man (which I am not) I would bet this print is legit.
But as many have already said - if you are plunking down that much cash - I'd collect in person. Don't yall have a cheap airline called RyanAir that is like $99 to any European city?

Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by RBK on Aug 1, 2007 5:46:58 GMT 1, I will spare you all my RyanAir customer service story - but it would be characterized as nothing less than utterly ridiculous & unproffesional.

Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by jonpud on Aug 1, 2007 9:10:18 GMT 1, The one advertised is 33/500, so if you are right then somethin not right about this print? Out of interest I thought these were only signed in pen? Anyone? There were 50 signed. What makes you think they were only signed in pen? I started this thread to highlight an extremely rare occurance in that someone had placed a signed LIITA print up for sale on Ebay, I watch Ebay (like others) every day to see what is available on the Banksy front, never before have I seen one of these up for sale (apart from the un-numbered one) I did not start this thread to question the authenticity of the print, IMO it looks 100% perfect. I asked the question regarding how many were signed from the edition because I didn't know, I also asked if anyone knew if the signature should be in pen or not, again because I didn't know.Someone then stated that they thought this was from an edition of 600 when clearly the print stated 500, I think this is where this thread went a little pear shaped!! I have a pretty vast knowledge of Banksy artwork but I like many others don't know everything! I was hoping to tap into the knowledge of others on this forum to expand my knowledge a little more. I have wanted to purchase either a signed Rude Copper or LIITA for over a year now, along with CWSB I consider these to be the most desireable of the Banksy collection. I already have CWSB and various other Banksy work and would be willing to sell some of the others to help fund this purchase. To be honest it came totally out of the blue and I was completely unprepared and lacking in knowledge as to the print run size, how many signed etc, therefore I looked here first for help, I also wanted to ask the seller questions without looking a complete arse because I don't know my stuff! If I decide to go for the print I will contact POW for some more info as well. I did not mean to start any speculation as to the legitimacy of the seller, and certainly did not start this thread to bag myself a 'bargain' (I find that comment amusing seeing the print starts at 7K and there is a reserve set also!!) It would appear that everyone has a different theory regarding this print run so I will obviously have to dig deeper!! I also have concerns about buying a print from abroad from a new seller with no feedback so after all I have said I will probably hang on another year or more waiting for the right deal in the UK.
This forum is IMO the bollox, I enjoy being a member, It often makes me laugh and I enjoy the informative threads that also appear, I also enjoy discussing my passion for certain styles of art with similar minded people. (I do not collect train numbers by the way!!) I would never deliberately cast doubt over the legitimacy of an Ebay listing without being 100% sure that my facts were correct. For example I 'warned' the forum of two seperate listings for a 'signed' Napalm where both of the sellers had used photographs from an earlier listing of my own, again it was only a warning as the sellers might have been legit and just didn't have a camera etc to list their own photos. Interestingly, BOTH of those listings turned out to be scams!!
Anyway got to get on with some work!! ;D

Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by Daniel Silk on Aug 1, 2007 9:53:07 GMT 1, Just had a bit more of a look at this thread Back in those days the signed pieces would have been part of the full run ;D meaning they could be spread out in the 500. BUT, I was told by Steve Lazarides that with some of these early prints they printed say 500, and planned to do 100 signed ;D But in those days nobody wanted the signed ones, so they just kept selling them unsigned until the 500 were all gone meaning, only 50 signed ones out of the run might have been sold in the end ;D
Following on from the post I made last night.
I should imagine that if you contact POW, they might say that it was 100 that were signed Officially But as I was saying unofficially it could be less.

Think he might as well have thrown the listing fee's down the drain, max this must be worth is 1.8k!! (Framed)

Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by bond on Aug 1, 2007 14:20:51 GMT 1, exactly what i thought - was looking for the word signed but it's not there !!
Last two went for £ 1,800 and just over £ 1,500 so clearly market research has been ignored in favour of blind hope !

Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by dgb133 on Aug 4, 2007 5:49:09 GMT 1, So what has happened to the listing? Was it pulled or did some blindly desperate sap offer to turn over his entire bank account for the print if he ends it early? With a 3k starting bid on an unsigned Flying copper you know what he wanted for liita must have been incredulous. I love this print but damn if I'd ever spend that much money on it.

I am really looking to trade for Kaws items, preferably Prints, 99 Companions, Accomplices and 5 year laters. Might sell if the price was right. The print is 234/500 and is in a simple black frame. Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by lesroy on Apr 29, 2007 14:26:42 GMT 1, Yeah I love him mate, but I think I prefer Saul... and I want to clear out prints and not have too many on the walls. I think two of the same type are a bit overkill, esp as Saul has massive white borders and yet Terry only has a 2cm white border so Im not sure they'd look a pair if placed together.
Gorgeous print but I need more wall space for some of my really choice pieces.

Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by gtorphins on Jul 25, 2007 19:27:43 GMT 1, Putting my numbered print up for sale. I'm the original owner from new POW can confirm this. Sadly though...
Just took it out of the frame to take pictures, when to my horror I've found the print has started to ripple. Was completely unnoticeable in the frame! I phoned the framers who framed it all those years ago to be told it's "more than likely down to poor paper quality." Cheers
I've taken some shots to show the rippling and I must say it's looks far far worse in the photos. Thought I'd see what interest there was here before putting on fleabay.
Thanks George

Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by airsine on Jul 25, 2007 19:43:32 GMT 1, When I had a similar problem Art Republic told me that rippling shouldn't cause any serious loss to the value of a print, and said that a lot of the early Banksy prints had scratches and blemishes, and it's generally accepted as part of buying a screen print.

Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by rob123rob on Sept 9, 2007 2:02:39 GMT 1, A shot in the dark, yes I know, but why not!
I would really, really love an unsigned print of Love is in the Air (Flower Thrower).
Here is a bunch of stuff I have that I can use towards trade hopefully, some configuriation of some of these plus cash, whatever (everything listed below is in mint condition):
-Grannies (unsigned) -Mantis - All Fall Down -Beejoir - LV Child (unsigned) -Blek le Rat - Homeless in Paris -Static - In Between the Bible Bashings -Stef- Playtime (pink) -Insect - Monkey Claw -Eelus - Wot-u-Lookin at (Choc. Brown)
I know, it's not Micallefs and Neates, but it's something. So, tell me what you want, how much money, any of these prints, blah blah....thanks
Robert
