Dale Marshall π¬π§ Vermin β’ New Paintings β’ Exhibition News, by curiousgeorge on Oct 10, 2010 19:09:13 GMT 1, Possibly the best show i have ever been to, the lack of 'cashing in' feeling was very refreshing. I was most struck by Dale coming on here and basically pouring his heart out, i recall a few not really feeling that and even after the show have a greater understanding of each to his own.
Glad he followed through to the show in the same way hiding nothing and being totally open(how rare is that) I found it so powerful on so many levels that although i looked at each piece a lot they are not the front of my mind moreso the whole concept.
Or to be blunt his journey to hell and back, I've been totally humbled by this experience and would like to think I've always had an open mind but this really opened it and even provided come personal clarity for me in this world we live in.I saw the full circle/cycle of life yesterday death,re-birth, coming through the darkness and into the light without any of this none of what we saw would be possible.
I saw the rush for buying and figured i would hang back a bit thinking i could browse at leisure, alas you snooze you lose! Though i did not get a chance to make a purchase, I came away with something far more valuable and totally priceless too. An amazing show which i think was has surprised all those involved in putting this together, sure everyone probably knew it would sell out.But to me that was just a tiny part of the show and probably the least important
I will be visiting again without a doubt, would advise anyone going for the first time to take in the installations first and view the works, that's not to say they don't work without viewing the installations, just a greater understanding and clarity
Lovely to read his inspiration was his family, the building blocks of everything good in life
Anyone planning on having these framed drop me a PM for nice surprise
Also thank you to Mr & Mrs Slammer for the warmth and hospitality again! Get some wd40 on the kitchen door hinges!!! So embarrassed about sneaking out for a ciggy in the small hours only for the hinges to wake up the neighbourhood

Dale Marshall π¬π§ Vermin β’ New Paintings β’ Exhibition News, by sid on Oct 10, 2010 20:00:42 GMT 1, Just back from Bristol great show - all a bit manic last night but was quick enough to buy 2 canvasses and lucky enough to be both in my top three. Good to meet Slammer and Curious George made the queueing go a lot quicker. Slammer think a Mr Jago is next on my list !! Went back today when it was a lot quieter and had the pleasure of chatting with Dale and George. I think it is true to say they were totally amazed at how well the show was received and the speed at which they sold. Dale thank you for your insights and thoughts you are a very humble artist and I hope this show is a real springboard for you. Not sure if this has been posted but there are 5 or 6 pieces that are open to email bids to art-el including the show canvas. If you get a chance go to this and along with the art the installations and the book you will get a real insight into the mind and soul of Dale.

Dale Marshall π¬π§ Vermin β’ New Paintings β’ Exhibition News, by hlarmy on Oct 10, 2010 20:23:06 GMT 1, I've got some photos that I'd like to post but herein lies my problem.
I only have limited space on my flickr so if I put them all on there, and then link them here, I'm going to use most of my allowance for the month (each photo is probably about 3MB).
A question for the techies (that's not you Wiz) - is there anyway I can reduce the size of about 20 files without editing each one in Paint one by one? It's a problem I always have and it's so time consuming that I normally don't bother!
EDIT: Sid, I don't suppose you've run the Paris marathon twice before have you

No idea about this but I'm sure I saw Slammer and Wiz nip into the massage parlour a few doors up for some R&R after the stampede that was the first 10 minutes...
Walshy, good idea by the way. For some stupid reason I have a few diferent flickr accounts and I'm sure I've paid for a pro account on one of them, but I use it to post personal photos and my photography...

Monet never got to paint the Welsh valleys in their full glory (and I'm not talking about the Rhondda) so I asked Dale to do it for him

No worries; I'll bang an invoice in the post tomorrow.
Slammer, CG and I were particularly impressed with this street piece - anyone know who did it?

It's been an utter pleasure reading this thread. Back to art for the love of art. Some photos at last! CG's photos really do show the teture of the oil paint - beautfiul. Big thumbs up to Mike and dale for what appears to be a massive success. It's been a while for me since there has been a buzz about an artist like this, and it feels goooood! c
