Dale Marshall π¬π§ Vermin β’ New Paintings β’ Exhibition News, by Deleted on Oct 10, 2010 22:34:52 GMT 1, The show was top quality. I loved the whole concept. The installations were really intense. Loads of great paintings. It was all a bit too manic when the show opened, So I went outside for a walk around and went back later when it had calmed down and the show had sold out. I went back today and had the whole place pretty much to myself. A much more enjoyable way to view the Art on show. I would highly recommend having a look to any of you who get the chance. What a lovely way to spend a weekend.
I made a couple of purchases(2 of the last 4 hot pies left at Pieminster).
Oh and did I mention the golf?. Been a bit quiet today CG !!.
Silky- whilst you may be right regarding some of the work ending up on ebay. I feel that comment really lowered the tone. Everyone involved in this show worked their nuts/tits off. Were you suggesting that the show only sold out because of people buying to resale?. I knew many people in the queue and I can't see many of them selling at all. I reckon there will be a lot less for sale on ebay than you think. I know you said you didn't like Vermins work(apart from the background), but I reckon until you've seen it in the flesh its difficult to fully understand and appriciate it. I also know your unlikely to be making your way to the show, but if your around these parts at all you really should pop in.

Dale Marshall π¬π§ Vermin β’ New Paintings β’ Exhibition News, by Daniel Silk on Oct 10, 2010 22:51:43 GMT 1, Thanks Slammer
Yeah its always very hard to appreciate painting like these from photos, I think Guy Denning work is similar coz you cant get the feel of the texture and shine of the paint unless you see them face to face. Yeah, would love a trip up to Bristol some time something I really should do! Great to hear so many people have enjoyed this show

Dale Marshall π¬π§ Vermin β’ New Paintings β’ Exhibition News, by Cocteau 101 on Oct 10, 2010 22:55:52 GMT 1, This is the show I'd most like to see for a long time. My first love was abstract expressionism ane this combined with the history of the pieces make this for me a life affirming show. I hope for all involved it's amassive success.

Dale Marshall π¬π§ Vermin β’ New Paintings β’ Exhibition News, by bristolboy on Oct 11, 2010 20:44:58 GMT 1, I almost made a lengthy post on Saturday night when Id come back from this show and still contemplating what Id just seen, though with all the ebay talk and the other crap that followed it I decided there was no point, though CG, H and Slammer kind of proved me wrong as I enjoyed their posts.
Simply put this is the best show I've ever been to, it was more than a collection of paintings it was a journey that was pretty harrowing and frenzied at at times and simply beautiful and serene at other moments only to drag you back and then let you out briefly. There is beauty in the dark indeed. Its so fucking raw and honest and stirred up so many emotions it took a long time after leaving to try and take it all in, though I know I have to go back in order to do that properly, I'm lucky enough to live 5 minutes away so will be back, a lot.
I have nothing but utmost admiration for Dale not only for his talent but also his openness.
Big up Mike and the team for making the other side of the show such a success.
I left with that feeling you sometimes get when you leave the cinema, that anything is possible.

Dale Marshall π¬π§ Vermin β’ New Paintings β’ Exhibition News, by Zippy on Oct 11, 2010 20:58:16 GMT 1, This looks like the best / most refreshing works by a new artist I have seen for quite a while. The buzz around it has not been seen or heard on here for along time.
Good to read posts talking about the Artist instead of what it will be worth in 3 months and 'who wants to trade for a banksy'.
Congrats to all of you who bought a piece. I am waiting to hear (if i am not too late) about any pieces left over or up for sealed bids as this is the freshest bunch of works i have seen for a while.

Dale Marshall π¬π§ Vermin β’ New Paintings β’ Exhibition News, by Art-el on Oct 12, 2010 15:14:32 GMT 1, Well what can I say other than a absolutely HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported and patronised the exhibition thus far. Saturday was an amazing night and all of us involved were and still are incredibly overwhelmed and delighted with how the show has been received.
We all feel incredibly privileged to have been on the roller coaster journey with Dale in the year of planning that it took to put the show together. It has been humbling to see somebody put together a body of work which has been incredibly well-received, whilst at the same time tackling some very powerful mental health issues and raising awareness, and it was very appropriate that the 10/10/10 was World Mental Health Day.
I know there were a lot of people that were disappointed to have missed out on the opportunity to purchase a piece of work and we appreciate everyone's civility and good nature when this happened.
We are all off to lie down in a very cold dark room for the next 48 hours and unfortunately due to staff sickness the exhibition will now be open from Thursday to Sunday, 12 noon till 6 PM.
Once again a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone.
Mike, Stef & all Art-el Gallery
PS. The five show canvases are still available through a closed bid process that will cease at the end of the exhibition and we will publish more details and images as soon as possible.

Dale Marshall π¬π§ Vermin β’ New Paintings β’ Exhibition News, by eddgould on Oct 13, 2010 10:38:56 GMT 1, Just thought that I would join in with the love for this show. The best show I have been to in some time. I had a chance to see it when it was quiet as was completely blown away by it. Me and wifey managed to bag some pieces that I am very happy with.
PS. hlarmy. I think it must be you that I was boring with stories of marathons. :-)

Nice thought Walshy but after producing 101 canvases in 101 days then 202 handwritten 16pg books might have driven him back to mental illness!!
Just incredibly well produced little numbers from the artists original hand written manuscript courtesy of our very good friends at the amazing Ripe Digital.

Can I suggest you sack the person / team responsible for the newsletter
