Banksy • Andipa Gallery, by nmbr6 on Apr 17, 2007 16:13:52 GMT 1, I was in London for my first time last month and I was able to get over to the Andipa Banksy exhibit. I finally got around to uploading the pictures. You will see what looks like duplicates but I almost always shoot two shots in case one is blurry or something else.
You can click on the pictures to get the full resolution shots:

I have emailed them a few times to try and get prices, but so far no one has come back to me. Also is there a catalogue with prices in it. Thanks and look forward to hearing from somone.

I was once told "if you've got to ask the price you can't afford it"

Bet everyone and their momma has emailed for pricing. And probably less than 5% can afford most of the stuff. I'd go to the exhibition if you are serious about buying.

Banksy • Andipa Gallery, by andrewd on Mar 2, 2007 20:52:17 GMT 1, I am looking forward to going sometime over the weekend, the last show they had there was great, this appears to have about 3 or 4 times the canvases. I'll report back on prices and see if I can bag a few catalogues to sell on at face value plus p&p. Anyone else who is going make sure that you go across the road to the coskum gallery who have an enormous collection of Warhol and other pop art stuff.

Banksy • Andipa Gallery, by Macdeee on Mar 5, 2007 11:25:26 GMT 1, I had a look over the weekend. Really good exhibition of his work, especially the three monkeys on card! (If only I had £100,000 spare!) Amazing to be in the same room as all those classic and original canvases... But dont look too close. I thought some of the canvases on display were quite badly done. Dont hate me, I just noticed that some of them did not look too nice on close inspection. The "detonation monkey" at £85,000 was covered in marks, overspray and even a mistake in the banksy tag that had been touched up with marker pen! Dont get me wrong... Most of them were amazing! But some looked like they were ebay "tribute" canvases! Anyone else notice this?

Part of me understands that if you were to pay that sort of money you would expect some sort of perfection in the piece, However, in reality a canvas by a street artists really should be raw and gritty with plenty of overspray and underspray and the intricate mistakes that can only be made when you are trying to do something quickly so as not to get caught. I like the fact that this idea can translate into the indoor art.....

Banksy • Andipa Gallery, by Macdeee on Mar 5, 2007 20:51:49 GMT 1, Fair pont Jaypaav.... I completely agree. But have you been to see the works at Andipa yet? I highly reccomend going as its a great exhibition and a real eye opener. All his work looks amazing but there are one or two that I would need alot of convincing (Provenance etc) to accept that they were done by the man himself. Let alone worth parting with £85,000 to £100,000. Maybe they were realy early versions?

I think I've got to second that the prints look amazing but I was a little disappointed by the quality of the canvasses. I went to Andipa and Eleven yesterday. Now Blek really knows how to spray a stencil on to a canvas crisper than a packet of walkers sensations!
