Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by Michael Jacob on May 19, 2008 16:44:01 GMT 1, Great auction, tons of stuff.
Whats up with lot 62? It says "color reproduction." All other listings say screenprint.

Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by yapsey on May 20, 2008 0:42:15 GMT 1, i was given my catalogue today by my mate that has a very close connection to dreweatts, and is worth a very good flick through.
there is a good introduction to this art movement and also a glossary in the back with a section on each artist who's in it.
he's also been kind enough to wangle me an invite to the preview on the 22nd - he is owed many'a round of drinks.......
i will take my camera along and throw some pics of the evening up if desired....

Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by funster on May 20, 2008 8:38:19 GMT 1, I'm excited about this auction. Was speaking to Mary at Dreweatts yesterday and couldn't have been more helpful. Does anyone have any first hand experience of dealing with them?

Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by jonpud on May 20, 2008 17:47:53 GMT 1, Some seriously nice pieces there!! Gonna find this one interesting as I have two of them at home that have never come up for auction before!
First time I have seen Goldie come up for auction as well, I know he has some really nice work on the way, working with some big names so I'll be interested to see how Lot 25 does! Pictures don't do it justice, it looks stunning in the flesh!
Some MINT Banksy pieces there, lots I aint seen before! Should be interesting!

Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by hlarmy on May 21, 2008 10:31:32 GMT 1, I know it's a long shot, but if anyone has a spare invite for the preview tomorrow night (Thursday), I would love to attend ... and would of course be happy to swap it for a few beers
I'm London based so can drop everything and be down there pronto...
Cheers

There's an invite-only pre-preview tomorrow evening (as is normally the way with these things). Then the preview starts on Friday

Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by alcat82 on May 22, 2008 23:29:02 GMT 1, Anyone else go to the press preview tonight?
Really good collection of stuff. Can't help but think the organisers are onto a good thing here with the touring exhibition in London and Bristol before the main auction in Shoreditch.
Saw Goldie there. They were selling Dr D prints I think, Β£195 a piece if my (slightly blurred after free drinks) vision was correct! Loved the Bombing Middle England piece, Guy Denning's looked great too.
Get yourself down there this weekend after the Tate!

Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by dogant on May 22, 2008 23:55:35 GMT 1, Just come back from the Dreweatts auction preview and the Laz show - what a night.
Arrived at 6pm - had a cup of tea in the Selfridges cafe overlooking the entrance - at 6.30 there where about 20 people in the line - although most where suits (if you where important enough - you where greated with a catalouge - if not, you had to Q and pay Β£15.)
Free booze was great - more exciting though was the art.
Favourates for me.....
The Banksy stuff (obvious I know) - but interesting, the laugh now was a little bit bent round the edges and so was the Glastonbury sign - for that kind of money I would want then mint (ok - I know its street art and all that)
Banksy portrait took your breath away - so it should at 150 to 200K
Adam Koukoudakis - saw this artist at the Bristol show 2 weeks ago - the more you see the better - really big canvasses worked well - simple, but effective.
Dface Ice cream was fun......on a fridge door too - again, simple but effective.
Adam Neate - Red lips also stands out (get the pair if you can afford it!)
SPQR - loved the dive bomber - I think this beats Matts Paint Bomber (my fav of his) - but did not really get the SPQR Yellow Mamma (sorry Matt)
Overall - the best thing about the show was the real mix of artisits - and price points.
Top names where being mixed with new names - so I feel it really helped lifted some of the new artists.
Really well put together - really nice crowd - good to meet some of the people from the forum and the NW overnight Q.
Also met Golde - he's not like the guy you saw on Big Brother - he came across really well and a real pleasure to chat with him (if you have not seen his new Pete Tong image - look at it, it great!)
The popped to the Laz show - again, another Wow with the Faile stuff really exciting me (also really worthwhile having a look at the print shop - some great prints for sale - as well as some really good and different frame jobs (given me a few good ideas)
Full marks to all involved.
Many thanks to Mary for the invite and Dan x2 for the tag along to the Laz show.
Cheers DA
