Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by pezlow on Feb 7, 2008 15:29:11 GMT 1, hmmm - an urban art sale outside an urban centre.
Nothing against Deweatte Neate, one of the nicest auction houses to deal with, but I'm not convinced...

Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by giiiant on Mar 18, 2008 20:37:24 GMT 1, This bit caught my eye- "Significantly, the sale will showcase a number of newly executed works by names, such as Inkie, Mudwig, Graham Paris, Eco, Silent Hobo, Dr D, James Starr, Motorboy, Guy Denning, Cyclops, Adz, Flx, Awkward, Pinky and Rowdy"
Awesome. Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like they're actually doing their own bit to help "the scene" rather than just making as much $$$ as possible by going for only the most profitable artists.

Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by s-editions on Mar 18, 2008 21:01:06 GMT 1, As well as dr.d (who has an Artist's Proof of her 'H.M.P. London' street piece in the sale plus 5 original one-off works) there are also works by Goldie, including a hand-altered AP of his 'Pump Doll' screenprint on alumimium and a pair of altered canvases. Images will be posted soon at www.dnfa.com/urbanart.asp .
By the way, we still have a few 'H.M.P. London' railing boards left from the edition of 10 (and at Β£250 each we are selling them are cheaper than the auction estimate, 'cos we like you). You can find them at www.s-editions.co.uk. They are tagged, dated and numbered, although if you want to make a few quid for the guy who took one from the street you could buy the untagged, undated, unnumbered one on eBay (number 330220636286).

Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by s-editions on Mar 19, 2008 8:50:47 GMT 1, Unfortunately we are not allowed to tell you that until the catalogue is published, but ones removed from the street have sold on eBay for over Β£370.
The boards we have on offer are actually nicer than the one in the auction, since they have been hand finished, collaged and mounted to railing boards by dr.d. The auction piece is an AP of the street poster and, although still a great piece, is not quite as special.

Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by hlarmy on May 16, 2008 15:33:37 GMT 1, The reserves seem a touch high for quite a lot of the items (starting with Lot 1 for example).
Personally I'm not sure I'd put Adam Neate gallery pieces in this auction (if I had one that is!), especially given there are two of them.
Should be a great night for the 'smaller' artists like our very own SPQR (good luck Matt, some great work there)...

they are estimates, the reserves arent listed and are confidential. though i agree, many estimates seem high but what do i know? i thought auction houses low-balled prices to bring in the suckers. To me the sucker is the one who pays over 1k GBP for a single AM AB
