Christie's day sale, by EHC on Jul 1, 2008 21:44:24 GMT 1, What I'm wondering is why the Neates do not show up in the results at all. The Haring along with other works were also unsold but still show up in the results with their estimates.
Anyone remember the estimate for the Faile box? And do the prices realized include buyer premium?

It's possible that the Neate's were withdrawn in that case. I wasn't perusing the sale list; I was just looking up the artists themselves. If the lot is bought in, just the estimate will show in the results page. One could always call Christie's to be certain or wait for the artnet.com results to be posted tomorrow.
The prices do include buyers premium but not VAT for you European buyers. Faile box was estimated ยฃ10-15k.

thanks for the info lee3.
I thought the Faile box would perform better but I guess thats still solid.
to be honest, the Neates were listed weird from the start. On the Christies site they didn't have the pieces listed under Adam Neate as the artists but rahter Untitled and his name did not show up on the list of artists on the left of their screen.

not checked the results but an educated guess would say the neate original never met it's reserve and thats why it never sold and thats why it doesn't show in the results. Auction houses skip the unsold lots.

Christie's day sale, by lee3 on Jul 2, 2008 16:49:09 GMT 1, 3 eiditioned Banksy canvases just traded at Sotheby's for $240k. Usually I attach a premium when there are multiples in one lot but disregarding the premium that is $80k each for the editioned canvases. Count the 3 that traded at Bonham's a short while ago and you've got a low of $60k to a high of $80k for these pieces at auction now. That's more than enough data for me to tell me where the market is for the edtioned works. It's also worth noting that 2 of the 3 canvases in this lot are iconic and I'm surprised they did not bring more to be honest especially since Laugh Now was 1 of 1.

Christie's day sale, by mose on Jul 2, 2008 17:00:51 GMT 1, Not that anything should, but the small size of these, the relative 'simpleness', the editioned nature, etc. makes the price really boggle my mind....
I wouldn't think that the Laugh Now being 1/1 means much though, as there are plenty examples of that graphic in better size and form.

My point being, these were commanding SIGNIFICANTLY more just last fall. Personally, I consider 43 cm sq (17inches) a decent size.
>>>Can you please explain what "bought in" means. Thanks! <<<
it means it didn't sell. No matter what if a bid hits the level of a the low estimate by definition it is sold. Some sellers will have a lower "reserve price" than the low end of the estimate and a piece can sell despite the bids not reach the low estimate. If a lot is bought in, it means it didn't sell which means it didn't hit the low reserve or the low estimate.
