pesky ebay - ever won and had this happen ?, by dotdot on Aug 14, 2008 19:42:33 GMT 1, The other day i won something on ebay...
(yeah i know poor show!)
Next day stumped up and paid via paypal.(seller = non uk)
Now,what do you know, the seller gets back and says "oh sorry i sold it to the second bidder - as you didn't pay within 48hours..."
eh what ?
can't say I'm too impressed given the pesky print i was after was sold out crashed the site etc... blah blah... now i get this ?
suffice to say - thought this is a new one - hey thanks...
One more reason to.... a/ give up buying prints from ebay.... ho ho.. b/ buy from a gallery ! (joke..)
..btw suffice to say - i've sent a proverbial rocket up his jacksy .. i feel a dispute with ebay looming...
anyone else seen this... kind of behaviour... ?

pesky ebay - ever won and had this happen ?, by robinbanks on Aug 14, 2008 19:51:20 GMT 1, If the seller stipulated that payment had to be made within 48hours of the auction closing I would hazard a guess that you won't have a proverbial leg to stand on with regards to filing a dispute.

He said he paid the next day so it must have been within 48 hours...

That sucks. Unfortunately I still don't think there's much you can do about it - I doubt you can even leave negative feedback if the transaction wasn't completed.
Hey ho - the way things are going you'll probably pick another up in a few weeks for less. Good luck with that.

The feedback option becomes available as soon as the auction ends doesn't it? Plus, on this occasion, thanks to new feedback rules, just so long as the payment has been returned, you have nothing to fear by leaving a neg' as the seller cannot reciprocate (if my understanding is correct).
