Banksy VIP show Feb’24 print , by mojo on Jun 4, 2024 20:33:07 GMT 1, Yes wow! They pay about market value. With his public releases through the years he has made a lot of poor/middle income people rich(er). Exactly that. What he led the public to believe, however, was that he was advocating peace, that war causes misery for many, not least the less fortunate, and that he supported Labor (or the other way around). So, yes he owes us. Hilarious

Banksy VIP show Feb’24 print , by loui on Jun 4, 2024 21:32:30 GMT 1, Originals and small series editions have always sold to collectors/VIPs (except the GDP lottery). It's nothing new and I see nothing wrong with that. When did you have an opportunity of buying an original from source (even if you could afford it)? The collectors are funding his different projects and to some extent the print releases to the general public.
I'm a bit tired of those who are condoning VIP shows, and of them arguing that it raises funds for him to do the things he wants to do. What did he do recently? A show of his work at a museum in Glasgow and some street art in Ukrain. Well, wow? He may have created some awareness for difficult situations people are in, but he ain't making it more fun for everyone at all. What he does do by selling his work in VIP shows to VIPS is to make the rich richer. I'll be the last to say he's not allowed to do what he does, but it certainly ain't how it ever started and still should be.
So i was wondering what Mojo and Drip do for a living. Anybody know if they work for an auction house?

Happy selling to Banksy for his prints to VIP. ☂️
Here, however, we are left waiting for something cheap to buy. 😎

Banksy VIP show Feb’24 print , by Happy Shopper on Jun 5, 2024 12:02:07 GMT 1, So... For all the talk of a "VIP Show", actually these are gift prints, probably from the Cut & Run show and related book, etc.
Was there really a VIP Show? Doubt it.

So i was wondering what Mojo and Drip do for a living. Anybody know if they work for an auction house? Damn, you sussed us! I can confirm that yes, drip and I are the Chief Executives of Suvurbees. When not selling art for squillions of dollars we frequent this forum and shoot the breeze with other big shot art dealers, gallerists and rival auction houses. I'm sorry, I must have missed the bit where you had to download your C.V. and credentials to join an art forum on the world wide web.

It’s gone downwards with Banksy after he ended his term; no good painters to find in artschool are there Drip?

Banksy VIP show Feb’24 print , by loui on Jun 5, 2024 13:38:36 GMT 1, Ah, I've been rumbled. Like an undercover cop, once startled, we have to reveal our true nature. Like a fluffer at the bi-annual Christie's orgy, I'll never forget the day I was welcomed into Banksy's inner circle. There was some sort of heated debate about Banksy's identity on here, and someone obviously posted something a little too revealing. Out of the blue, I got a message from one of Banksy's "people", just saying "delete this post immediately". And I was like, fine, no problem. The thing is, it wasn't even my post. But I do like a challenge. Once the offending post was deleted and they saw what I was capable of, and that I could keep my mouth shut (just ask anybody), they placed me as their agent of chaos inside one of the major auction houses. Which one? I have no idea. I wouldn't have held you to it, but you appear to be spineless. I'm sorry for that.

Banksy VIP show Feb’24 print , by PC Baby on Jul 24, 2024 8:55:37 GMT 1, Why past tense loui - do you not love Banksy and his continuing ideals anymore His continuing ideals? What ideals? Using other peoples work and ideas to get a message out that wears his name and brings loads of money to Pest Control? It may sound over-optimistic when looking at the state of the world and in particular at all the projects that Banksy has brought into life in order to make a difference to peoples' lives, but the fact remains that he has made a difference and things will change (for the better, we dearly hope) - the wheel keeps turning and life will go on. Taking an idea and adding his own spin has often been a fun way for the onlooker to appreciate what is really going on right in front of our eyes, so yes, that means he has given us all plenty to think about, which only a small amount of people have managed to achieve - that's the true power of art and it transcends boundaries and barriers, cultures and languages! Does he really bring in loads of money for Pest Control? Sometimes, needs must and I'm sure it is not himself that he is concerned with; more likely it is other people's lives he wants to sustain and at the same time maintain what is still in operation, like for instance the crucial work that MV Louise Michel undertakes in the Mediterranean Sea (when they are eventually again able to - but it all adds up in terms of costs). Nothing is free in life - not even life itself, in some instances, it seems..😢
☮ to all, loui

Quite frankly, I fail to understand your response to me: "You are a dangerous man but some day you will meet your equal. I hope at that moment you will remind your own words."
Can you explain then why your re-quote of my post has obvious alterations to my words in the last paragraph (just after the peace-symbol) and shouldn't you take up your grievances and misgivings about Banksy with Banksy himself?
Why am I the bad guy here?
His continuing ideals? Nothing is free in life - not even life itself, in some instances, it seems..😢 ☮ to all, loui loui my message was sent in all sincerity and with peace in mind to you and everyone - see above and also this my specific re-quote. Quite frankly, I fail to understand your response to me: "You are a dangerous man but some day you will meet your equal. I hope at that moment you will remind your own words." Can you explain then why your re-quote of my post has obvious alterations to my words in the last paragraph (just after the peace-symbol) and shouldn't you take up your grievances and misgivings about Banksy with Banksy himself? Why am I the bad guy here?

You're not the bad guy here. I enjoyed your post. I like positivity. No idea why the person responded as they did
It's very easy to do this to someone else without an alternate explanation or view point on a keyboard.
Very unnecessary and can spoil a person's day somewhat
