When did you have an opportunity of buying an original from source (even if you could afford it)? The collectors are funding his different projects and to some extent the print releases to the general public.
I'm a bit tired of those who are condoning VIP shows, and of them arguing that it raises funds for him to do the things he wants to do. What did he do recently? A show of his work at a museum in Glasgow and some street art in Ukrain. Well, wow? He may have created some awareness for difficult situations people are in, but he ain't making it more fun for everyone at all.
What he does do by selling his work in VIP shows to VIPS is to make the rich richer. I'll be the last to say he's not allowed to do what he does, but it certainly ain't how it ever started and still should be.

Probably not a term the artist would use but in terms of important collectors to this market, alot of the ones I knew/heard of going would fit the bill. Some missed out who probably should have went but hard to please everyone. |

I got a cool book and a bitchin' tote bag recently, so Banksy doesn't owe me a god damn thing.

As was the Precision Bombing stencil and story behind it being revealed after 25 years. |

On artsy it doesn't say that the certificate is from Pest Control. I said what I wrote.

ViP only shows are a bizarre though. Really not fussed about not having chance to buy the work, but i'd love to see it in person. Banksy was a inspiration to myself and many other ls, seems pretty crap that I can't see his work any more just because I'm not minted. If anyone fancies sharing any of the images, drop me a msg on here or instagram 🙏
