Hey guys,

I'm visiting a friend in Amsterdam this weekend and was wondering if anyone knows of any exhibitions there at the minute, or galleries worth visiting? I've heard there's a Banksy one at the moment, but is there anything else? The last few times I've been (I've lost count tbf) has all been a bit of a blur.

Well, if you mean the Red Light district: Moco is near Museumplein, in a neighbourhood which is exactly the opposite of de Wallen (as the RLD is called by the Dutch) :-)

Yep, that one.  Im going over for a week this summer hols with my crew/family so will be nice to get some clean culture in, via plenty of coffee shops.  Not been over since 2004 so really looking forward to it.

Nice, well I tend to go to the coffee shops, but am keen to see what galleries are about. Not that sex museum though with the weird animal cocks lol

There are a lot of nice galleries near the Rijksmuseum, you can walk around De 9 Straatjes and I would also recommend to go for a drink at De Bajes, they have some great artworks

might be cliche but recommend Van Gogh museum, it's nothing urban art but a good museum!

I went to the Banksy exhibition in the end, which was full of goodies to look at. It was well worth checking out so thanks for the heads up! Apart from that, the rest was spent eating, non-stop delicious food. That food hall they have is insane, and I had the best ribs I've ever tasted at some random place my mate knew of.

Ah yes, de foodhallen - highly recommend! That part of town is nice to stay in, quick walk to the centre canal ring area, but less touristy than staying at dam Square.

Use to go twice a year on the 90’s.. brilliant city, great museums. People are great and met many characters and partied hard, went to the milkweg (milkway ckub) one New Year’s Eve which was great. Stay off the white widow, really strong weed which had my mate hiding in a wheelie bin, and I walked out of the worlds smallest coffee shop after a session, hit the fresh air and I was like bambie on ice and collapsed, couldn’t get up. My mates pissing themselves not helping me.

Definitely the Rijksmuseum. Close enough to amsterdam is the voorlinden museum in the Hague. One of the best museums in the Netherlands IMO.

And do not forget to check Butcher’s Tears. Best brewery and taproom in the city: butchers-tears.com.

Maybe try and have a look at Brouwerij ‘t IJ: www.brouwerijhetij.nl Mostly totally overcrowded. But if you are lucky there is still some room left. Try their specials which are only available at the taproom itself.

The heineken museum is good and well worth a visit. The sex museum are funny. Rijksmuseum And Van Gough galleries worth doing. Cancel trip is good.
