Plenty of really nice ones in small streets everywhere and around the flower market. Go off the beaten track you'll have a good time.

Was recommended to go to Heerlen but didn't make it there. Some cool graffiti in Delft too.
Love the traditional art there too. The Stedililjk had a spectacular exhibition on last time we were there (this spring) - Rothko, Lichtenstien, Chagal, Mondrian, Karl Appel and everyone else under the sun.
Van Gogh museum is great.
Rijks is of course great too
Amstelveen (20 minutes outside the city) had a nice museum dedicated to the COBRA movement.

Delft is more the Hague than Amsterdam, but if you go that way do not miss the Escher house, it is pretty impressive and definitely worth the visit. Located in the Hague next to former US embassy.

In Amsterdam, there is a good pancake place next to the Anne Frank Haus - - pro tip if you're heading there: book the earliest time you can , and if you get the first slot for the day (and are familiar with the holocaust) then skip the video at the beginning (which the rest of the people going in at the first slot will watch) and then you'll have an almost empty museum to yourself to look around.

Any last minute additions would be great... I go on Friday.

Visit AMSTERDAM π³π± Street Art, Galleries, Events, by met on Jun 4, 2018 19:55:11 GMT 1, Back in March, Dive Jedi started this Amsterdam Street Art thread, focused on the NDSM wharf.
For those who aren't aware, the NDSM neighbourhood is in the Noord borough, situated north of the IJ river / waterbody. It was previously an industrial shipyard occupied by the shipbuilding company, Nederlandsche Dok en Scheepsbouw Maatschappij.
Rather than creating a separate thread, I propose this one be continued yet broadened β to cover Amsterdam street art and graffiti more generally. Perhaps the title could be amended accordingly.
__________
May 2018 photographs
Zuid borough (South)
Museumkwartier neighbourhood (The Museum Quarter)
Initially thought the piece below was a nicely executed piss-take by some street artist. Given the location in front of the Rijksmuseum, however, I suspect it was authorised β which makes it far less amusing.
Laser 3.14
Clet Abraham
Obey sticker with cheerful pig head
De Pijp neighbourhood β Oude Pijp district ("Old Pipe")
"All De Pijp [Yippie] Out!! Fast!"
Does anyone understand what "Yippie" means in this context? Presumably, it's a more contemporary reference than the Youth International Party founded by Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin et al.
A very Dutch contrast with painted storefront shutters: Detail from The Night Watch on the left, throw-up and tags on the right.
Great handwriting by unknown taggers.
At first, this seemed like the most intriguing, unsanctioned artistic intervention on a van that I'd ever come across. Hence the photo. Later, I learned Found Reality was a 2015 photographic exhibition β part of which was mobile and displayed (officially) on municipal street-cleaning vehicles. The work lost much of its appeal upon that discovery.
Random chalk graffiti. Any translation by Dutch speakers welcome.

Hahaha, that's funny.
Although "De Pijp" ( the Pipe) is a neighborhood in Amsterdam I'm not sure this is in said burrough.
"De pijp uit" is an expression in Dutch which means dead or died.
Not sure what "ALLE YIPPIE" means , and why they did or should die ( could mean either ). It could mean "Alle yippie is dead" or "All yippie should die" "Snelle" does mean "fast" or "the fast one", so might be the one who wrote this.
Maybe Fake can shed some light - he is from Mokum, I think.

Thanks for the clarification β even if sadly anticlimactic.
This would be a case where ignorance and imagination were far more enchanting than my subsequent knowledge of reality.
__________
On the plus side, it might help to better understand the convictions of fantasists and conspiracy theorists.
Person A: Oh my god! It's an alien space ship!
Person B: Well, it does indeed look like a flying saucer. But it's actually a natural phenomenon and formation called a lenticular cloud.
Person A: No, it's not. I don't believe you! Why would you lie? Who do you work for? It's obviously an alien space ship!

But I have to apologise. I lied. I work for an agency to deny extraterrestial life. The chalk writing is in fact not Dutch. It's alien scripture proclaiming Banksy is from the Naja Galaxy.
