Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by gd79 on Jan 24, 2019 16:16:58 GMT 1, They look v soft across the board to me. Banksy prints for less than a Pejac print anyone??!! £10625 (before VAT) for an unsigned IFTL doesn't sound particularly soft to me.
I'm sure we can all find some exceptions... I'm generalising

Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by Hanging Around on Jan 24, 2019 17:01:21 GMT 1, The price when you’re watching it live/on the app doesn’t include fees, but when you check the results after the auction is finished it updates the prices to include BP. Thanks for the info. In that case, even softer than I thought.
And when I say when the auction is finished, I mean the whole auction and they update the website with the results. So anything you’re seeing now doesn’t include any fees.

Are you sure that the buyers fee is not added already? All these prices become nice round numbers when divided by 1.25

Generally i think that as a UK Buyer paying top buyers premium and VAT i expect to pay about 33% over hammer. Then you just wait to get stung on shipping costs..

And pay close attention to the little symbols in the auction catalogue next to the lot numbers. Occasionally there will be specific lots where you have to pay VAT on the hammer price AND on the buyer's premium, so the total fees including ARR end up over 50%. This will be shown by a symbol next to the lot number.

The Black Cats MC flag sold, for £3250 which isn't really stellar either

Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by kuni on Feb 18, 2019 23:58:51 GMT 1, Some really nice pieces there.
I'm intrigued by the Julian Opie "LCD Canvas" - a signed 'Julian Opie' on the reverse continuous computer animation on 46" LCD screen from an edition of 4. Especially at an estimate of ~$40k. This piece straddles the line between sculpture and painting. Is there really a market at this price for an animated piece like this? I realize that Opie is known for his animated panels, so maybe this will be attractive to a collector, but I'd personally rather have a canvas. Here's a link: Julian Opie LCD
