Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by jB on Oct 17, 2013 15:28:44 GMT 1, Does this Os Gemeos belong to JB? It is far better than the portraits on board from Prism, twice the size and on canvas! A piece this size is so much easier to hang in most houses than the HUGE pieces, and canvas will probably make more than a similar sized piece on board. There cannot be many out there this size by the twins. It should get top estimate and more I reckon. Anyone else want to hazard a guess? Just for the record, this Os Gemeos work is NOT mine. However, I am looking forward to the results.

Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by jB on Oct 17, 2013 15:31:56 GMT 1, BTW: Is there a live feed link to watch this auction, I see it's currently going on as I write this?
edit: I found it - phillips.com/phillips/live-bidding/live-bidding.aspx
Missed the Os Gemeos, however it did sell for 50k£ - not a bad result!
Does anyone know what the premium percentages is on top of that?

....although im not the tallest drink of water.

Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by Deleted on Nov 13, 2013 2:25:07 GMT 1, The Laugh Now panels were bought originally in 2008 for $350,000 from Bonhams. I remember when the buyers tried to break it up in to 3 seperate panels and tried to apply for PC COA for each panel, but got refused on the grounds that the entire piece was already given a COA - it has been for sale ever since for 5 years. It was originally installed in the Ocean Rooms in Brighton

To my eyes, his very best works have all kinds of condition issues in the traditional sense. He gravitates towards beat up wood with holes in it and rusted metal for obvious reasons. The imperfections on many of his chosen mediums give it a more authentic feel, at least to me anyway. I thought that Laugh Now was stunning and if it suffered from anything it was over saturation in the marketplace over the past handful of years. Hopefully it went to someone who will burry it on their wall for 5 years or more and I'd bet that all would be forgotten. I'm biased but i think that was a heck of a pick up for the new owner.
Not my photo and while a slightly sterile environment, i still think that packs a heck of a punch.
