See I don’t think it is “taking advantage”. I think it is a proper valuation of his work, impact and influence. And isn’t a general rule that the market dictates the prices and that starts with auction prices. They have been far exceeding the estimates and it is in high demand.

Nightlife / Shadow Paintings 1981-1989 by Richard Hambleton, text and photos by Franc Palaia. He hung with Richard and photo'd many of his street paintings as completed. Most of the ACA paintings were post-2000.

During the early 1980s, the American photographer and artist Franc Palaia used to document Richard Hambleton's work in the streets of Manhattan. In 1982, he published a first book in a very limited edition, which is today also part of the MOMA museum collection. In 2011, he has reprint a new version of his book, including also photos of Hambleton's Shadowmen in the Netherlands and in Italy.
Richard Hambleton's Shadowmen used to be quickly vandalized, but Franc Palaia's photos were often shot only a few hours after their appearance. This is why these images, like the Sidekick Shadowman from 1983, offer today the more rough and authentic documentation of Hambleton's interventions.
This print is produced by Le Grand Jeu and printed by Terrain Vague from an original photo of Franc Palaia.

He was a true pioneer and legend of the scene for many years.

From what I heard it’s a lot worse than being sued from un happy customers.
