Roby Dwi Antono • Epic Fight Print, by Kepler-452b on Apr 18, 2021 7:12:51 GMT 1, Because there was none for sale. Merely an act for all the people who don't know about the early sale yesterday. Sadly, I think you're right. I was refreshing constantly and have really fast internet and it never showed in stock. I'm over it, but, man, if they thought they got a lot of nasty messages yesterday, they should probably just not check they're emails for a few days, haha. Kind of sucks it went down like this too. I actually really like Thinkspace. Just need to be a bit moore transparent in the future if there's going to be pre-sales. I do not mind that the gallery say out loud that we only open this work to specific members/VIP. However, giving false hope to the other collectors and not being transparent is really not cool. I think the best way is to implement something like 'member level' just like what nanzuka is doing.

Everybody on ebay still listing this as an edition of 175..
I guess because they never opened their prints or looked at them lol

Advertised as Edition 175 then you just slipped in quietly extra 25 prints, increasing it to Ed 200? I have bought many items from you guys, but this whole thing is not the proper way of doing. Thanks for that, Dmatt. I agree- this is all super shady and sadly avoidable. I’ve always supported them but this whole thing stinks.

Please be sure to use Google to check the time in your area.e i Please note there are NO pre-orders on our editions or requests for specific numbers." NO pre-orders, but an advance list..... I am sorry that somebody has to ruin it for other people, but I would gander to bet that just about every gallery and print shop has a VIP list and at times will share an advance link to. In this instance, we shared a link with some of our regular patrons that missed out on an original work from Roby back in February. We had so many that missed out, this was our way of helping to make it up to them by offering them access to a highly sought after print early. That really is how the art world works, and if it’s a newsflash to anyone here, I apologize. But that is reality.
Your right, they do. However you are violating trade law, publicly. It’s called restraint of trade. FYI

You actually made me look this up this morning as growing up in the states iI’ve never heard this term before, “restraint of trade”. And after reading about it thinkspace isn’t violating any law in this country where it’s located by selling to VIPs.

That opens the door for chargebacks if a buyer wants. Selling something not as advertised but I don’t see anyone doing that knowing even with the extra 25 added the print is still worth 2x cost.

This silence sounds a bit like a “It is what it is”. After Almine Rech and Thinkspace, I think my opinion on galleries has enormously changed (of course with small exceptions).
What happened with Almine Rech?

Roby Dwi Antono • Epic Fight Print, by tinypoubelle on May 13, 2021 21:45:19 GMT 1, Given there are only one or two on here crying that the edition size has increased, it was probably a justified decision to do so.
More people got to own it.
Those that benefited from the presale being released on here and Thinkspace honouring it.
Those that bought from the presale legitimately.
Those that bought on the “as advertised” release.
I’m sure that anyone not happy with the change to the edition size could return it to Thinkspace and get their money back. If you love Roby and managed to grab one, I’m sure you’re not worrying that the edition grew a little.
Those already advertising it on EBay will have to adjust their listing but other than that, I don’t see why people would be upset.
I’m sure some of you shall demand more transparency but you just can’t please everyone.
Maybe be happy more people got to own it?

What happened with Almine Rech? Almine Rech made a bit of a s-show during Cesar Piette’s NFT release with Nifty. Basically they secretly kept a 10-20% of the editions (sold for a few 100s) for themselves and then re-sold them using different accounts just after the drop at $5k. Pity NFT transactions are clear as water and everybody could see it. So they are now banned from Nifty.
