In previous auctions it was mostly online bids; I wonder what is the reason for lack of any online bidding interest this time

TateWard โข Art Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by irl1 on Mar 24, 2021 20:42:46 GMT 1, Bidders at auction houses have full trust in an auction house and expect due diligence to be carried out and many purchases are made blindly without bidders conducting their own checks. When these buyers come to sell their items privately, I expect potential buyers to carry out their own due diligence and first point of call would be to contact pest control whom have already stated that these are not authorized by pest control so may be a different state of affairs and effect sales on the private market. The general public would like many here initially thought, these were official Banksy authorized products.if a genuine bid, great for those that bought . Now you sound like a broken record!! The history is unquestionable I have tried to help you & others understand on many occasions!! COA are not issued on many Banksy officially authorised items thatโs not nothing new also ๐ค๐ป How about everyone calls it a draw

Simple market forces maybe or an ensuing crash? not a crash, the B man has scarcity working for him. Perhaps just a slowing down and perhaps correction of sorts. I mean it seems like every week for a while a new record was being set for one print or another.

I believe so.... and the unsigned are still showing a decline with signed still holding & gaining. Theres just soooooo much available at the moment, it's actually amazing these prices are holding. We're yet to see the ripples from todays and yesterdays big ticket items, so I'm confident prices will continue to rise (for signed at least) for the foreseeable future, especially when more and more are now landing in to the hands of the wealthy. The demand to 'available' ratio is technically rising all the time if the prints being bought at the moment are for mid-long term investment.

If you have been on the forum a few years, you will know how few banksys used to be listed for sale here and at auctions compared to recent times , the market now has tempted many to sell, buyers are aware of the change of market and more patient and not impulsively purchasing any works that come to Market and they can be more selective also the fact the auction house is not a top tier auction house, different level of bidders and the past history will effect their market slightly

Honestly speaking it seems as though if buyers play their cards right they can snipe and pickup good pieces at good values from the auction houses.

Sothebys sale last week shows thats not entirely a correct statement. a correction of some sort I think Sotheby's showed more of a stabilization than a correction - none of those lots went unsold and a fair amount of the ones at TW were passed (I want to say 5 or so but can't find the results on TW's site), and although the estimates at Sotheby's were very low, the majority blew through them by a good amount, while many of TW's lots sold at the low estimate. I understand it's not a total apples-to-apples comparison - I think the upcoming Christie's sale with higher estimates will serve as a better point of comparison on this front.
Also an unsigned GWB hammered at Bonhams like 5 minutes ago for $360,000, so who knows. I think the iconic images will continue to rise at a rate higher than the ones that are less so, with the more "average" images staying stable or rising more slowly and with the historical laggards like Grannies or TM catching up to the "average" images in a burst and then settling down again.

At the end of the day, other than crypto, where else do you get 10% ROI month after month?! The results are still amazing overall.

The Medallion fund since 1988 is pretty close. But you have little chance of being allowed to invest in that
