I received a shipping quote yesterday for my small piece and it is far from cheap. I am just wondering if any other international buyers are having the same problem?
Donβt get me wrong, LSC has been great to deal with but Iβm just fascinated with the shipping quotes provided by their agents.
Has anyone in this forum ordered a piece from this series from LSC Gallery? I received a shipping quote yesterday for my small piece and it is far from cheap. I am just wondering if any other international buyers are having the same problem?
Donβt get me wrong, LSC has been great to deal with but Iβm just fascinated with the shipping quotes provided by their agents.

Β£641!!!! It did include crating but even so that hurt. IMO the last 12 months has seen an incredible price increase on freight. I always try to negotiate free delivery when I can as it seems an area that people can abuse.

Also you might get a forum member who can pick up locally who would pack it for you for a small fee and then send it FedEx for under Β£100. Depends on the value of the work of course.

It will come down to value. Art insurance only works when art freight specialist are used which is were the additional cost comes in. The argument I have is that on occasions I have paid for an art courier service so that the work is insured but ended up getting virtually the same handler. For instance I paid a fortune for IFAS (Integrated Fine Art Solutions) as the gallery insisted for insurance the artwork had to be packed and shipped by them. They did do the packing but then it arrived via FedEx!!!!
