Crucifact or Crucifiction?, by misteraitch on Mar 22, 2007 10:20:49 GMT 1, Greetings & Salutations One & All,
Virgin On The Ridiculous Snapping at the heals of the Blood For Oil series is 'Crucifact or Crucifiction?'. Celebrating one of the most important dates in the Christian calendar the MrH Postal Orifice has released a new series of prints and First Day Covers.
As usual, only a limited number of art1stamp sheets have been produced, with 2 designs, Sacred Art 1 and 2, both produced in a run of 12 sheets per design that will be used to create of 16 FDC's and 10 Signed Presentation Sheets.
The First Day Covers will be available for pre-order until the 4th April (or until they sell out - whichever comes first), and will be delivered by the fat-thumbed one on the 5th due to the fact that the lazy work-shy fop will be on holiday on the 6th.
New Prints In an attempt to reduce the amount of work needed to update the MrH website only 6 prints have been designed.
• Sacred Art 1 • Sacred Art 2 • Ascension • Test of Faith • My Dad's Better Than Your Dad! • Crucifact?
Both the Pop and Signed edition prints are available immediately, and will be delivered on the first Saturday after your order is received.
2nd MrH Postal Cudgel The 2nd MrH Postal Cudgel is drawing nearer and will occur on 30th April with most of the current designs up for selection.
Thanks again for all your support and remember - philately will get you everywhere!

Crucifact or Crucifiction?, by goffy on Mar 22, 2007 13:10:20 GMT 1, As a fundamentalist atheist I applaud anything that mocks the various gods. So the new work gets my vote, well in H. Now if you can just start releasing prints at the begining of the month when I get paid I will be happy.

Thanks mcnuts - TBH having been a Photoshop user since version 3 it doesn't take that long to mash up (although sometimes it can) but yeah sourcing the images is the hard part.

Crucifact or Crucifiction?, by misteraitch on Mar 22, 2007 20:29:35 GMT 1, Interesting prints. Do you have anything similar planned for ramadan or eid later this year?
Actually I wanted to have a go at all religions as I dislike them all! However, as a white kid raised by a christian family I thought it only fair that I start with Christianity.
As for the My Dad's better than your dad print - well - when I found the image the idea just popped into my head. ;D
Now, if I knew more about Islam, or if there was a visual representation of mohammed as opposed to a sigil or glyph, then he would be on my hit list too.
Actually, dislike is probably the wrong word - if you need it in your life to help you get through the day to day living that's fine - just don't preach it...
After all, he made us all to be just like HIM, so if we're dumb, then God is dumb...and maybe a little ugly on the side

I don't have any preferences - we'll see which religion deserves it next. ;D
I didn't chose Christianity because it's an easy target - I chose it because it was part of my upbringing and my culture.

Actually, I've never found Christians to not hit back as they're usually the first ones to voice their opinions.
Like I mentioned earlier, I chose Chritianity because it's my culture - I spent many of my early years in the church - hell, as a kid I was even in chorister of the year at York Minster so you get some idea of my level of involvement. And having wasted many of my early years doing so I got to see some things that I don't agree with - hence my dislike of religion - but hey, that's just MY opinion and MY experience
As for the 'older' religions, I don't really know too much about them - and to be honest I really can't be arsed to waste my time reading about them either - so to a certain extent I don't consider myself informed enough to parody them
As for the Crucifact or Crucifiction series, I always thought it was bizarre that we always celebrate the birth of christ on the 25th, but the date that he was crucified changes on a yearly basis?

Crucifact or Crucifiction?, by corblimeylimey on Mar 23, 2007 14:45:57 GMT 1, I think all religions start off good and basically the same with the general message of, be good, helpful, peace loving and treat the planet and other humans (and some cases animals) with respect.
Somehow religion has become very twisted, and IMO become an excuse to do all the opposite of what I've just mentioned above.
