It's kind of crazy because they sat in Gallery 1988 for so long and finally sold out and now everybody wants one...same with the Jacked print and Sountrack to My Life. But I guess that's how it always is...
Good luck!

Are you going to his upcoming show?

What was your first ever Art Purchase?, by artfortruth on Sept 5, 2007 15:59:50 GMT 1, I've been swapping and collecting prints my whole life with friends but I think the first one(s) I actually bought were by Shephard Fairey back when Radiohead's Kid A album was coming out. Back then I was really into their artwork (or I should say Stanley Donwood's) and purchased a diptych without even realizing (years later) that it wasn't a Donwood creation, It was Obey!
Too bad they weren't signed though or else I wouldn't have sold them on ebay for 200$
They just didn't bring me the same joy once I found out it wasn't Donwood's, even though I know they were incredibly rare and hard to find now.

What was your first ever Art Purchase?, by snakes on Sept 5, 2007 18:20:00 GMT 1, My first, street art type print was Eelus's chewbarber.
Previously had been into canvasses by George Ioannou and original inks and the odd print by a guy called Neville Parker from Auckland.
Before that i used to collect Martin Sharp and 1960's music posters..

What was your first ever Art Purchase?, by Daniel Silk on May 14, 2009 16:48:43 GMT 1, James Cauty - Stamp of Mass Destruction - 1st Class - 1/150
Guardian - www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2003/jun/04/post.artsfeatures BBC News - news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/southern_counties/2963414.stm BBC News - news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/southern_counties/2994418.stm
As it says in the Guardian only 23 were ever sold, and some of those would have been 2nd & 3rd Class, so I guess this could be pretty rare. I was doing the London to Brighton Mini run that year (2003) and as a KLF fan, heard that James Cauty had his first ever print out at a gallery in Brighton ;D Called into ArtRepublic and saw they had the 1st Class numbered 1/150 available I could not believe it! I had a choice of that or artists proof 3/5. Think I paid £595 with it all framed up. The very first, and second most expensive piece of art I have ever bought.

What was your first ever Art Purchase?, by silvermyn on May 14, 2009 16:52:49 GMT 1, The first work of art I bought was a signed print by an artist called Victor Vasarely. Cost me around £1k at the time but I got into a bit of a bidding war at one of the big auction houses so I think I payed a more than it was probably worth. I still have it and love it as much as the day I bought it.
Vasarely came up with the concept of op art and this particular piece consists of gray dots. The guy was onto the whole dot thing long before Mr Hirst. Vasarely was also a big influence on artists such as Bridget Riley.
Still have a few Vasarely pieces in the collection but moved on since then.

When I was a student the flat above left the bath on and flooded my bedroom and ruined the covers for half my record collection and one of the technics decks... I got this D.Edwards photo with some of the insurance money as not all the records could not be replaced.
