New collab Martin Whatson / Sandra Chevrier print, by meloveart66 on Jul 1, 2016 17:12:22 GMT 1, So what's so special about this print (image)? A woman's face tagged by some graffiti artist? Overall a very dark (mirror effect when framed and covered with glass) oversized print, not very uplifting to me. Just a mix of two existing images…could be some photoshop work. Ohhh ok… its made by two big names in the scene…so yeah let's buy it. Hahaha…and then people complain about flippers and secondary market overhere…I'm sure lots of people just buy this because it's signed by two well known names in the scene and therefore it's a cool print to have and it's worth some money! Sure tastes differ…It's not a bad image this print…but for me highly overrated. See so much more nice works, which are never mentioned on this site, available for days or even weeks. But yeah they'r not signed by some big artist name. No problem if people just buy art signed by big names. Only wonder by yourself, is it just because it is a really nice print? Or is it because is cool to have a(nother) real "blabla" in your collection, and for that it's also a good investment For me personally it's sometimes like that, but still i have to like the print/image Which was not the case with this one… Anyway guess some people made a very nice cashflow this week What's the point to leave a comment like this ? The art world should be an absolute non sense to you with all those people spending large amounts to own a Hirst. Yes true…why leave a comment like this? Hehe… it won't change anything…because it always has been like this. van Gogh while alive was poor and hardly recognized and appreciated. Just maybe have some hope

Many artists have their fame and wealth now before they pass away , just takes a good internet presence and good pr with social media outlets ,...bit of a magpie taste this new style , too much going on

Why?? Think is a bit strange…i'm sure Graffiti prints benefits from the fact some of their artists are worth a lot on the secondary market! Why some prints are higher in price upon release? Because the name is worth more. And how come? Yes because of the secondary market

I mean could that possibly damage relations with customers for future sales?

Because the name is worth more. And how come? Yes because of the secondary market the early secondary prints listed before in hand are usually lower than the prints that are listed when in hand , so prices will rise now
Why bid on a print when not in hand ? There could be damage issues with the print ? Bad packing etc

New collab Martin Whatson / Sandra Chevrier print, by honestcrooks on Jul 2, 2016 19:13:52 GMT 1, Ofcourse the secondary market defines a large part of the worth of an artists work, but I think it's a nice signal of Graffitiprints to send out to the so called "instagram galleries" and frequent flippers. I think with this move, the don't damage the customer-gallery relation, but on the contrary, they improve it by respecting the "real" collector who missed out on the release due to these resellers and giving them a new attempt with a extra chance of getting them. Flippers will flip nonetheless, even if this time they get caught and end up without print. The profit is strong with this one. :-)
Also, but that's a personal remark, I don't know if the value rises that much, if after a release, dozens of prints get up on eBay and don't sell for ages (just look at the Jordan x Supreme camo sneakers. Different market, same game)

New collab Martin Whatson / Sandra Chevrier print, by meloveart66 on Jul 2, 2016 21:26:50 GMT 1, Ofcoarse i agree it's crazy people are offering items which are not in hand for sale! So somehow i can find myself in blocking those who do so straight after a print release.
