Their condition reports have come at best "generous" and they are quite happy to fall out with long standing customers.
The COA point is shoddy, I have had similar with another Auction house, but they held their hands up and they actually said I could do whatever I wanted as I had paid in full. I kept the piece as I am well aware that Pending means approved and they guaranteed money back if anything went wrong which it didn't. I got my certificate in 2 months.
Additionally I have use the Pest Control Authentication service now a few times and it was very quick, the longest was just over a couple of months all done!

They also have certain statutory obligations that cannot be disclaimered away or contracted around. Plenty of case law of auction houses hiding behind terms of business and being on the wrong end of a claim. Personally I think heโs got enough to put pressure on them, even if itโs just to get a discount on the fees. I probably wouldnโt recommend anything more than a nasty letter from a lawyer as if they want to defend it will get expensive.

I know his market is crazy but it doesn't feel like a ยฃ500k work to me. I'd be shocked if it cleared ยฃ1m
