As the art book collection grows sadly the book shelves do not so somehing has to go. I have a number of Bonhams Prints and Multiples auction catalogues from 2014 - 2019 that I am going to move on, I know people do collect these. They are £5 each plus £2 UK postage. Got to say I agree, what a very weird selection to put together. Like a massive "stew" of prints, just throw whatever leftovers they had in there. Bambi FFS. Feels like they have three different sales all jammed together. Makes no sense and each one undermines the other.

That’s what a large prints and multiples sale is usually like.

Maybe now, but never was. Bonhams have been dropping their standards a while...there is an eye-watering amount of posters in this sale - ie not prints/editions. Feels like I'm scrolling through a Tate Ward Tats sale.

They could get rid of the first 100 lots and do a seperate modern sale for those online only, not offer open editions, have a discretionary minumum lot value of £2,000 and it would massively improve the sale and they'd probably make the same money for 1/2 the work.

With such a clear vision of what makes a successful auction sale, you must surely run your own international auction house? It's a wonder how Bonhams have survived these 200 odd years when they clearly don't know what they're doing. You should send them your CV along with a business plan. They'd probably offer you a generous renumeration package to retain your invaluable advice.
