Yes, and 4 people (i think) recently listed them FS.  I'm personally holding out until one comes at a price that I like it at.

a Very X went for $1.600 usd last week on ebay, this one's much bigger, more hand finishing and a smaller run...

I'm with you for sure, i'm a huge maya fan.  All i'm saying is maybe a little over saturated secondary market at the moment on this particular image that's all.  I would love to get one at the price i have in mind, it may or may not happen.

Two questions if you don't mind me asking. Where are you seeing the saturation? And how much are you looking to spend?

It's been my experience that while they're often "for sale", they rarely get sold. So just curious...

Four people put this for sale within a week apart of one another, therefore, if they really want to sell now, would result in a lower price, IMO, but i agree 100% with the for sale doesn't = sold

I don't think that means that the market is over-saturated. You also have to remember that the Expressobeans people (or at least a few, like 10) all knew of this release and purely bought them to flip. Had all of them landed in the hands of collectors in Germany, there might be none for sale on the secondary. The EB folks have a habit of undercutting and looking for a quick sale to make a few dollars, whereas the rest of the art world seems to be ok to hang on to a given piece, at least until they get their asking price (or close to it).

That's shooting for the stars! No way it goes for that, or close to it. Maybe half of the asking price. However, it's now a very small run as I think over half the run was damaged, so if you're a collector and want it, it's going to come at a higher price point.

I love Maya's work, but I don't understand why people would possibly pay this price for a print (ed. 30) when you can buy a smaller canvas from her for the same price, or the same size in an original 1/1 canvas for just 2 times the price.

I often scratch my head at the crazy prices people pay for editioned prints around here when originals are only incrementally more.

I think you are right. It's getting more expensive for collectors. If you like the Multiverses II as an image, you can still get the Pilar print... it's from the same image just 1/4 size - but only 300 USD.

That's what I did, the Pilar print is awesome with the foldout "X".  I actually prefer this version as it echos the Xs from the image itself and presents a unique format.

Agree with the above.  Not to mention framing costs on top of the cost of the print...

Her original prices are jumping significantly as well. Met up with Kelie at the LA Art Book Fair a couple of months ago, the small 11 x 14's on panel (like the one I posted earlier in one of the Hayuk threads) have jumped from $1,200 to $2,500 - and that's direct from the source.

Kelie also had one of the Multiverses 1 left at the book fair that she was selling for 1k. 

The days of small, "affordable" Hayuk originals seem to be over, depending on what your definition of affordable is.

Edited to say that the that Ebay auction for Multiverses 2 is ludicrous..

This. It used to be you could pick up an original relatively easily, and at a pretty cheap price. That's really no longer the case. That said, that person is asking a ridiculous number.
