looking to Rent a house/apartment , by wimpy on Mar 19, 2008 4:26:45 GMT 1, I lived in a similar sea-side shack on Long Beach Island for a year or so. Other than the living in Jersey part, it wasn't so bad.

Most rentals are not listed with a realtor, though, as it doesn't pay for the owner and/or realtor to spend the money and time dealing with each other.
Try northjerseyclassifieds.com or similar sites where owners can list their own stuff or where newspaper ads get published online.

FAKE BAST PIECES ON EBAY..., by wimpy on Mar 17, 2008 9:25:23 GMT 1, The real question is... how do I get in on the late-night trip to Jersey?
I don't know what this guy was thinking. With a relatively small and tight-knit "scene", especially in the U.S. right now, how did he think people would miss this?

LEONARD STREET GALLERY PROBLEMS WITH BEEJOIR PRINT, by wimpy on Mar 12, 2008 9:06:58 GMT 1, You are going about this all wrong, buddy.
If they won't give you what you paid for, then ask them what special item that they have or will have soon that they WILL give you.
The last thing you should do is go spouting off on a public forum in all caps.

Home Depot + Banksy! :P, by wimpy on Feb 29, 2008 20:50:44 GMT 1, Yeah... would be nice for him to hit here considering it is "modern" graffiti's birthplace. However, probably because of that, it is one of the worst places to get busted doing so.
I was merely making a comment on Banksy's exponentially growing fan-base using this as an example.

Home Depot + Banksy! :P, by wimpy on Feb 29, 2008 16:25:01 GMT 1, I don't know what B&Q is but Home Depot is the massive corporation that supplies all home building and improvement items to everyday consumers and some contractors. It is basically a giant warehouse of wood, tools, appliances, etc that has put tons of independent hardware stores, lumber yards, appliance sellers, and who knows what else out of business.
On a different note, it is also known to be the place to pick up illegal immigrants out front and pay them a penny on the dollar to do hard labour for your contracting company.
Been trying hard to find it anywhere in their advertising and I don't see it yet. Thought it might be a corporate thing as I didn't think a store manager (a good friend of mine is one) would let an employee do it for fun.
They spring up everywhere, some within 5 miles of each other. The company is known for its shady environmental practices.

Home Depot + Banksy! :P, by wimpy on Feb 29, 2008 15:39:46 GMT 1, So I'm at Home Depot in the burbs of Philly yesterday picking up some things to help my parents. I'm walking through the lumber section and notice this...
(crappy cell phone pic... sorry! )
I proceed to walk around the store finding these on nearly every stack of wood in the place.
Whether Home Depot is doing this or just some kid who works there after hours, I thought it was pretty funny and worthy of a post. If nothing else, it shows the increasingly widespread interest in Banksy even in small-town America. Made me smile a bit.

LAS Vegas - any galleries or Art worth seeing?, by wimpy on Feb 25, 2008 13:33:51 GMT 1, Ah... cool. I haven't been back in years since living there, but I've heard good things about the direction that the "art district" is going in.
Did you marry someone you knew?

LAS Vegas - any galleries or Art worth seeing?, by wimpy on Feb 25, 2008 12:36:25 GMT 1, Oh, c'mon jfury. Vegas is the BEST place just to grab a seat somewhere outside and just watch people all day. I don't know about the "culture" of it all, but if you don't have a better understanding of humanity by the end of the day, I don't know what will give you it.
And go to the following link for a whole list of galleries there... www.theartsfactory.com/

Dain ๐บ๐ธ New York Street Art โข Collaged Portraits, by wimpy on Mar 16, 2008 5:52:07 GMT 1, I'm surprised the Gaia hasn't sold out of Lintny, I particularly like the pieces I have by him and they're pretty huge
It is too big for most people to fathom framing and hanging somewhere.
I was considering it, but I just hate the thought of ordering the perspex (something that big I like to be on the lighter side) and then assembling the frame pieces myself. Been there before and the thing just gathered dust, so I moved it along.

I swore hype only really built quickly on anyone who showed up on POW.
I also now suppose I should have worded that post differently. Did Rob even send out the normal mass email?

Figured I'd share some of mine now that they are framed up. (frames $25 each on sale... yeehaw)

Roofball - A different kind of Art!, by wimpy on Feb 21, 2008 10:30:33 GMT 1, What the crap...?
I can't comprehend passing it back and forth doing the hand-spring things. It just doesn't make sense to me.
Thanks for sharing, though. Quite entertaining.

Cut POW Blind-stamps?, by wimpy on Feb 17, 2008 21:36:35 GMT 1, Before you buy one, just make sure the print measurements still match up.
I've seen a perfectly legit (straight from POW) J&J with the the bottom of the very outmost edge of the stamp not on the print.

Comments please on my work, by wimpy on Feb 5, 2008 18:45:25 GMT 1, Heck, no. Point is to use the cutting/design itself to get the effect rather than the ink.
I really dig the effect you got out of whatever mixture it was. Only thing with watery stuff is you have to be careful rolling it on so that you don't fill up your cuts. Plus, the positive to translucent stuff is how cool it will look if you do a few layers of overprinting.

Comments please on my work, by wimpy on Feb 5, 2008 17:26:53 GMT 1, Sorry. I meant just leave your white background around it and then maybe do a line a few cm out and fade out with some cross-hatching. Didn't mean uncut, but rather unprinted.

Comments please on my work, by wimpy on Feb 5, 2008 17:17:32 GMT 1, If you do that, make sure to leave a fair amount of uncut space around the letters so they pop out. You can get some great depth going that way.
And I am an ang moh, but have some good singa friends. I don't know where I'd be today without being taught "bo lj", "pcb" and other goodies that allow me to offend people without them knowing any better.
Keep up the good work, goz.
Sincerely,
Cao Botak
